Hi Everyone. Just letting you all know that I am stepping down as Club Captain at the AGM. I thank you for your support over the past year.

The Waimate Branch will be hosting the 2025 Garage raid on Saturday the 2nd of August.
If could you canvas your members to who is likely to be attending and let us know, so we will have an idea how many to cater for lunch.
3 Passes with Waimate Branch 17/05/2025
A fine Autumn morning as Steve McDonald and I travelled to Waimate Clubrooms for a 8.30am start of the 3 passes run. The Meyers, Hakataraea and MacKenzie pass.
Only 2 club eligible vehicles and 2 backup vehicles. A disappointment for Brett who organized this run. As we headed to Meyers Pass the farms around the area where in good condition, over towards the Haka Valley you could see how dry the area was. Morning tea was at Cattle Creek, then heading up the Haka Valley to the summit, overlooking the MacKenzie Basin that looked so brown and dry. It was raining over by the Mountains. We had lunch at the James MacKenzie monument. The wind came up as we were finishing lunch we then headed towards Cave for a pitstop on the back roads to Waimate, I made a mistake following the instructions. Sorry. We got there in the end.
Thanks to Brett, Steve and everyone who came for a great trip. Thank you all for a great day. These trips are getting less frequent as we are moving to more modern vehicles and sealed roads.

If you like this sort of run, there’s a Coast 2 Coast Rally in Early November starting in Blenheim to Hokitika via the Molesworth and Rainbow Passes, run by the Nelson Branch. There will be limited numbers for this rally.

May's mid month run.
As the cooler months have arrived John Gale found us a comfortable indoor venue for our afternoon tea/coffee, Butler's Berry farm where we were served scones, cream, and a choice jams made on the premises, all very nice.
Our run was mainly on the main road except we turned off at Glenavy, went through Morven and came back onto H1 at the twin bridges over the Waihao river. Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon John.
