The last tlrree years have flown by, but now it is time to hand over to a 11ew Chai1man. It has been a busy year for the committee without a Club Captain. The members of your committee have rallied around and made sure we have had well organised rallys. Our main events: the Mt Cook Rally, the Mid Island Rally and the PV, PWV, P60 and P80 Rallies were well patronized and well run. I must especially mention the efforts of Nola Day who took the lead roll in organising two of tl1ese rallies. Many thanks Nola. The rally we ran for charity I was very proud to be able to l1and over a considerable sum of money to the Cancer Society and the Hospice. It's a feather in our cap to be able to say to you that the National Body is 1naking it an annual event for all VCC Clubs to hold a charity day on 27th At1gust for the Cancer Society. 111 a si1nilar vein, I wa11t to thank all those kind people wl10 helped with the delivery of doffoclils. A great job well done! Tl1e Wednesday group l1as been very active this year with looking after our surrounds and keeping our parts depart1nent in order. Thank you for all of' lhat. Thank you all for supporting the other rallies. I especially want to thank Neil Manchester and l1is 1notor bike boys. We are all looking forward to J<)an and Colin's 50th Mystery Rally and the New Years luncheon and Fairlie Parade. We have 1nanaged to have a speaker for most Noggin and Natters. It is not a11 easy job to find so1neone and I thank those people who have helped i11 that regard. Thank you to all those people who l1ave helped with 1norning teas and suppers. Our Open Day was very successful with a nun1ber or new members co1ni11g forward. My sincere sympathy goes to those me1nbers wl10 have lost loved ones in ther past year. I give a special thanks to those who produce the Tricar and send it out. Finally, let me tl1ank the committee members giving tl1eir time and effort to keep the club running smoothly. As I have said before it has been a busy year.My committee and I tl1ank our retiring Secretary, Carolyn Gibson who has filled the posili,0 11 admirably. I have enjoyed her advice and company at meetings and rallies. I wish 1ny successor and th new com1nittee all the best for the coining year. Jol1n

Midweek Run - 8 June 2017
On a cool June afternoo11 l2 cars gathered at the Club Roon1s for the 111idweek run organised by Jol1n and Marion Foster. Tl1e run started 1.30 p111, out of town down Kellands Road out to Rolling Ridges Road, heading for Doakes Road. There a bridge was under repair so back to Rolling Ridges Road, on to Pleasant Point and into Waitol1i Road. We continued on Seve11 Sisters Road onto Earl Road, left at Hanging Rock Road through Hilton and ba.ck on tl1e Fairlie Highway. Left onto Te1noan.a Road passed old school and hall. Right Pleasant Valley Road, passing St Ann' S Anglican Cl1urch viewi11g the N11n's s111all retreat next door (not used now). Turned back into Earl Road, left at Winchester Hanging Rock Road and right onto Te Awa Road. Tl1is area was a First World War soldier's settletnent. Te Awa Hall displaying history and me111ories of service to the con1111unity. Finally tt1rning left into tl1e Te Awa Hall for afternoon tea, some of us taking the warn1 inside option and others braving the 011tside cold \-Vith a glimpse of tl1e sun. A good interesting run tl1anks John and Marion. The Hall bro11ght bac.k men1ories of local fu11ctions, including New Years Eve!!
