This is a back country rally [Northlands equivalent to Canterburyâ€&#x;s Irishman Event] be warned no tar seal! If you want to know what is in the middle of the event you will have to enter! Afternoon and rally's end will be Kaihu pub. Bad weather alternative Kaikohe Museum Park. Bring your own lunch, picnic gear, drinks etc. This event is still in the planning stage but all will be in place by the due date. As an organizer of FIVA WORLD RALLY 2017 it is pleasure for me to invite you to our event to Poland which will take place from 4th to 9th of July 2017. Chairmans report The year is moving and things are going reasonably smoothly .Quite a bit has been done and it is nice to get recognition for our efforts from Kiwi North. Club events have been set and those attending have enjoyed themselves. Craig McDougal hosted our Sunday visit and it was very enjoyable and very interesting, thank you Craig. Big thanks to Denise and Dave Williams, Bruce Cosson and Shannon Young without whose efforts things would not have gone so well. Wellingtonâ€&#x;s branch visit went well and they put out an open invitation to all our members when in Wellington to visit so they can return our hospitality. Also thank you to all the members I haven't mentioned who help out without being asked. Without their help this Club would not function this is both old and new members everyone is valued. Trevor Riley and I went to the executive meeting in Auckland. They gave us some valuable advice and it was interesting to see the workings of our overall club. Sincerely yours Keith

Acting secretaries’ report
Just an update to keep members informed on progress made since the last AGM. Kitchen: Sink has been repaired. WDC has inspected the kitchen and advised that it meets all requirements and no further upgrades are required. Toilets: Toilets have been refurbished with new pans and hand basins. Walls relined, floors repainted. Pipe work boxed in. The outside of the doors have still to be repainted. (Paint has been donated and is ready to go.) Storeroom: Storeroom has been cleaned out and refurbished. Leak in roof over storeroom has been repaired. Spares shed: Lawrence and his team have been sorting out the spares shed making it easier and safer to find everything. Truck shed: The large roller door has been repaired. The viewing window has been obtained and is in the shed. (Yet to be fitted.) A quote has been obtained to fix the leaks in the roof. (Yet to be approved) The rot in one of the support post in the clubhouse veranda has been repaired. The wall that was letting moisture into the committee room has been resealed. Motorcycle report
Monthly run Sundays run was the usual hot fine weather with nine riders taking up the challenge. It was good to see Brian Craig out on his Triumph for the first time while Graham Fairbrother showed off his new acquisition a 2008 Triumph 865cc. What is it about Triumphs, four on the run.
We set off down SH1 to Mangapai/Oakleigh turnoff thence via Tauroroa, Maungakaramea, Whatitiri to Poroti then home. Donald Garden‟s Triumph (there‟s that name again) succumbed to electrical problems not long after Mangapai Village and he rode pillion for the rest of the run leaving the bike at a farmer acquaintance of mine to be picked up later. 25th National Motorcycle Rally & After Tour 18th - 24th Feb. Well despite my negative comments about the weather for the national Rally we were relatively lucky with only the Sunday‟s gymkhana and teams‟ events being washed out. 140 odd bikes lined up at the start of Saturdays Rally at Waitomo with entrants being sent away at 30 second intervals, the oldest entry was a 1914 Rover Coventry. The rally consisted of two timed sections in the morning and two field events which took place at the lunch stop. The afternoon run was non-competitive. We had 4 entrants from the Northland branch taking part, Robert & Lorraine Young, Simon &Sylvia Clearwater, Cameron Francis and myself. Of these Cameron managed to gain 3rd place in the post vintage section on his 1941 Indian 741B.While Simon & Sylvia had an up and down day, managing to hole out with a puncture in the afternoon section, 10 miles from the end, but winning 1st prize in the raffle draw which incidentally was worthwhile winning. The overall winner of the Rally was Dave Henwood from the Wairarapa on a 1980 Honda XL500s.
The after tour attracted 70 odd bikes including Robert & Lorraine and myself and was set up on a hub rally format with interesting daily runs of approximately 100miles and activities over brilliant virtually traffic free roads visiting Kawhia,Te Awamutu, Mangakino, Ongarue and Mokau. The latter included a picturesque boat trip up the Mokau river. Given the organising committee were landed with setting up this event at short notice they are to be congratulated on a well organised and enjoyable week of motorcycling.
Jampot Register 24th - 26th Feb This along with other one make rallies, were held at different locations around the country following the National VCC rally. I travelled to Masterton where approximately 50AJS & Matchless and other AMC machines gathered. A number had ridden down to Ngawi and Cape Palliser the previous day (approx. 174 Miles round trip). The Saturday run was held in glorious weather travelling down to Featherston to visit the Fell museum (of Rimutuka railway fame). From here it was on to Martinborough for lunch and the AGM at a local school hall. After lunch we travelled through some wonderful sealed scenic back roads to Hood Aerodrome where a conducted tour of Sir Peter Jacksons WW1 plane collection was undertaken. The evening meal and prize giving, (Don Poyntz, a local biker, won the prize for having ridden the furthest), rounded off a great couple of weeks biking. Rally report Taiharuru Northland Vintage Car Club RALLY REPORT . . . . from Bruce Club run to Taiharuru on Sunday 19th Feb. Sunday morning and it‟s sheeting down. The rain gauge is full ! Phones jangle and beep. “It‟s pretty tough up here Keith. What are we doing?” I ask. “We‟ll give it a go,” comes the reply. “Meet you on the corner.” What an excellent sunny day this turned into. Enough driving on easy roads, and a stop spot second to none. This was the property of Lynne McRae and Terry Dooley. Their special place? You bet. Dave and Denise were back with the „intrepid‟ Ford all fixed up and looking great. A soul-filling exhaust note popping like only a Model A can do. The estuary and grounds here are a real treat and our special thanks go to Terry and Lynne for their time and hospitality. My „Best-dressed‟ award this time goes to the Ford, crewed by excursion coordinators, D. and D., and „Rocky‟.
Dargaville Doings March 15th. The sun was out all day for our mid-week run ( 8 Cars) We headed North onto SHW12 and made our way to Tutamoe, turned off at Waimatenui East Road, on to SHW 15 to Parakao. Had lunch at Old Parakao Store which is now a Cafe. Had a look at some Old Vehicles etc A Big Thanks to Ngaire and Rob

Event Report
Last Wednesday (8/3), Wellington Branch Repsâ€&#x;. called in to the Park. These Guys were on holiday, and you could tell. By way of customary hospitality, Club stalwarts Marion and Cilla had whipped up a superb morning tea. The main building was rented so the Series E in the truck shed was rolled out and a social space was created right there. Just perfect. These Guys had heaps of chat and experiences to share, and their cars were fantastic. Just look. From Bruce.

Stolen Model A Parts Hi all below is an email I received asking for members to keep a look out for any of these items. Stolen from a factory in Onehunga Auckland. Need replacements. These low lives cut the doors off these cars with a disc grinder. I am looking for 2 front doors for a 1930 Fordor in complete and good condition. This is need for an insurance claim, 2 model A Fordors were partially stripped over Auckland anniversary weekend in a lock up. Also taken were 1 complete radiator with surround, 1 complete head light bar with both lights, both bonnets, both thermo radiator caps, all outside and inside door handles from both cars, spare wheel, luggage rack, rear bumpers, both front bumpers, all front door hinges cut with grinder to get door off, car 2 the head light surround trim, glass, & reflectors gone, both instrument panels complete with Speedoâ€&#x;s, both horns, and some other small parts. We need to start looking for replacement parts to get these cars back in running order.
