Club meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at the Aurere Clubrooms at 7.30pm.
CLUB CLEANING ROSTER 2018-2019 During the month, and preferably before the main calendar event, please give the clubrooms a thorough check over, as in: Clean the toilets and hand basins, check kitchen, window ledges etc, and sweep the floors. Window cleaning, washing walls etc will be done at working bees. Note any required maintenance and pass on to the Building Officer- Peter Mason, ph 406 1409. If your date doesn’t suit you, please swap with someone else. For any other enquiries please contact the Club Captain.

Lorraine Walker Lorraine left us last week, after a long and courageous battle. We thank her for all the help she gave us specially at Far North Tour and Autospec times, often when she should have been resting.

Welfare Report, from Margaret Wallace
It was sad to hear of the passing of Lorraine Walker. I had many a conversation with her over the term of her illness, and she was always so cheerful and upbeat, with a twinkling sense of humour. She will be greatly missed. Our love and thoughts go out to Brian at this time. A card has been sent on behalf of the Club. As far as I am aware there is nothing else to report this month. We continue to be there for John and Phyllis Crisp, as they struggle with their new way of life. I know that some of our members have visited John, and others have taken Phyllis out. I hope they manage to stay strong at this difficult time. Please don’t forget to let me know of anyone else who might need a friendly call. Also, remember to let me know of any milestone, or joyful event that we can help a member to celebrate! Rosco and Raewyn welcomed a good number of interesting vehicles (a trio of Holdens, several VWs, large old Americans, English classics and special one offs) and motorcycles from down the line, to their property at Kaimaumau. A 1933 Studebaker, new to the area, drew much interest with its sheer enormity. Another unusual vehicle was a drifter which demonstrated that it had controlled power over what looked like being out of control as it slid around the paddock! The e-bikes were available for us to try but no one told me how to stop.( fortunately no photo available as evidence!)

There are still a few emu on the property most of which are unfriendly by nature. However, Carol was happy to have people approach and pat her so cameras were a- clicking. We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the picturesque setting. The gardens were very colourful without a weed in sight. MANY THANKS Pennells for having us at your place. Your enthusiasm is always a good tonic. We all found something of interest; there were heaps of smiles and catch ups. The day was a great success. Dorothy Duirs

Photographer Dave Duirs obviously knows how to get the best smile out of everyone, except for Warren who was making so much noise he would have had no idea what was going on. The Clubrooms got a good spruce-up inside and out, and the pot luck tea was a bonus.
A flyer is attached to your Focus for a Coromandel Charity Cruise in March next year. We don’t have any more info than is on the flyer; if you are interested you would need to contact them direct. There’s sure to be some interesting driving on that route.
