The Management Committee are busy organising activities to keep the Club alive and relevant, however it goes without saying that the effort is wasted without support. Are we expecting too much? There are over 150 members , and I Guess after seven years in the Club I only know by name 30 or so and realise that all are not either able due to health issues or lack of a reliable car. But that leaves around 70 or so who we never see , and no one has had a serious medical /psychological event by coming to one of our activities , but those who do participate seem to have some enjoyment. It is your club.. if you are interested in any of the above activities and are not sure contact a committee member for more information . If you are disinterested and or just plain cheesed off about something we still need to know why! Graham Taylor

Night at the museum Murray George loading another historic 8mm film. Well attended evening, and the display in the Cromwell museum Cromwell mall is well worth visiting it is based on early motoring history, and some of the photos will be sure to bring back memories. The Display is enhanced by artifacts from the parts dept and there are many more should you wish to scrap the Picasso and do something really interesting. Photo Karelan Doran.

2018 Blossom Festival Rally, left from Cromwell this year and to Alexandra where most joined in with the Blossom Festival Procession but we are being crowded out with the numbers of heavy trucks, and officials not understanding our need to access parking after the parade, which let our organisers down badly. We then toured through the Crawford hills to the Ida valley, the day was sunny and the vistas magnificent, we crossed over to the Manuherikia valley via a paper road ( it was earth but dry) and to the Becks Pub which also doubles as a very respectable seconded hand emporium, so much browsing and time for refreshments and a chat. We then returned to Cromwell via Ophir which is also a very quaint historic village, where coffee, tea and socialising in the sun were popular. The evening meal was held at the Victoria Arms Hotel. The best part of the day are the roads both seal and some gravel all in good order with very little traffic, open rural scenery with some interesting buildings and yards, the variety of cars mostly 60-80’s and the good company. There will be some discussion re the actual Alexandra Blossom Festival involvement, a lot of our visitors enjoy this event, but for some time now I have felt that we have to move on and create our own event.
Editors Comment; The Daffodil day event had a round 70 cars take part the big number was in Cromwell, where the classic car guys joined in. Wearing my Daffodil co-ordinators hat I would have to say that the numbers in Wanaka and Wakatipu were disappointing given the membership there, the financial results indicate much higher numbers and that was due to many people donating well over the $10.00 per car. The people attending enjoyed the event and we had a good get together in Cromwell afterward.
This is a National Vintage Car Club event we as a club need to be seen to have some public worth, the Cancer Society is a worthy cause who has not had or had someone close affected by Cancer? I now hand over the Editing of Puff n Stuff to Don and Lynne Yeaman Graham Taylor

Kawasaki Motorcycle, 11hp Robin Engine. 1926 Ford Model T Roadster, most of the work has been done, engine reconditioned, and apart from some metal work on the body, its ready for final assembly . There are a large quantity of spare parts all carefully stored some are good for exchange such as the ‘low’ bonnet below

A good example of what a back yard shed should be, all the cars and the model T go, unfortunately so do the lawnmowers and I could probably boast that once the yellow one goes back to its owners the other mowers will get the least work possible!

FOR SALE 1964 EH Holden Station Wagon, plus spares The body was an Alexandra vehicle and so has no deep seated rust - just surface stuff from sitting around for so long. I have most parts here on shelves and in boxes to reassemble it, including a 149 reconditioned engine (20,000 miles ago), gearboxes or auto transmissions, completely re-cored radiator, wiring looms etc. A little panel beating required in a couple of places. The Parts Department is the place to go if you are looking for that electrical and related bits; points, condensers, spark plugs, distributor caps including some magneto caps, and that is only part of two shelves. A lot of this is NOS . At the working bee the floor in the tunnel barn has been cleared, there are quite a few bits for Triumph 2000 s and Hillman hunters including instruments Carburettors manifolds, steering racks, also quite a lot of BMC stuff, I have now shifted the rims again 12in 15 , 16 17 19in the next time I shift them they go in the scrap heap! There ate filters, fanbelts, gaskets motors gearboxes new speedo conversion drives ie mph to KPH make your car 20% faster! We are selling a quantity of 200 universal beam (RSJ) in good condition. 3x 6m , 6x 3.1m, 4 x 3,9m $25per m or $1000.00 the lot. Build mum a clothesline.
