It was an impressive ceremony with an Army platoon in attendance from Linton. Nine vehicles lined up at the start , plus other cars. On the way several vehicles developed problems and the drivers reverted to Moderns for the run. This was a serious rally.

more miles on we visited a stately older home where we had morning tea and a look around the property including a series 1 Land rover. There rally entries picked up a packed lunch and continued a ramble around the district finally ending up at “Lunesdale” homestead, home of the Bibby family where we enjoyed our lunches sitting in the sun on the veranda.
