CLUB CLEANING ROSTER 2021 During the month, and preferably before the main calendar event, please give the clubrooms a thorough check over, as in: Clean the toilets and hand basins, check kitchen, window ledges etc, and sweep the floors. Window cleaning, washing walls etc will be done at working bees

Presidents Report. Hi Everyone, I hope you have all had a happy Christmas. It was pleasing to see a good turnout for our Christmas event.
Many thanks to Robyn and Warren for hosting morning tea and organising our lunch which was a most enjoyable day. They also did well preparing for the summer picnic, erecting gazebos, cooking sausages etc. Thanks also to Graham for supplying the cold punch, taking rides and watching over the kayakers in his ‘rubber ducky’. It was a beautiful day and the children and some of the adults had several swims. A special thanks to Ruth for inviting us to her beach, a very unique and private spot. It was good to see Raewyn make the effort to join us and looking so well. Good to see Cecelia also. We were sad to hear of the sudden passing of Ms L Marton of Houhora on New Years Day. She and Cliff Thompson transferred from Auckland Branch about 3 years ago. Our condolences to Cliff and their family. Glennis and I will be away the first week in February on a trip around the upper South Island. There are also several other members stretching their legs in a similar direction. I look forward to our next event, heading North on the 20 th Feb. This is organised by Tom and Margaret Deverell. I have finally got the Nash back on the road after a 4 ½ year hibernation………..boy how time flies! Happy Motoring, Cheers, Win.

Southern Club Captain Reporting…..
February 2021 A happy and healthy New Year to you all. We certainly have had big volumes of traffic on our Northland roads over the holiday period. Great to see so many people travelling north. Many of our southern members enjoyed the Christmas lunch at Taipa, and the summer picnic at Ruth’s beach at Aurere. We will have our first potluck lunch for the year on Friday 26th February at Kae and Paul Bond’s Waimate North home. Kae has a wonderful collection of begonias, which will be in full flower and a great sight at this time. A further email with more details will be sent out during February. Please support and enjoy the lunch. The northern area event on 20th February looks really interesting. Hope some from the south can make this rally. Starting in March, we are hoping to try some informal midweek events where we can warm the oil, have a yarn, and maybe find out more about Northland and its charms. Please keep the Brian Parker Memorial Rally on 17th April in your diary. More details later. Drive safely, enjoy.

Visiting VVC Cars Max Allen I heard an unusual sounding vehicle turn outside my house on the 11th Jan. I jumped up and followed it by sight to the local Four Square. I grabbed my camera and got 2 pics. It is an NSU RO80, currently owned by a visitor from Thames, him being the 3rd family member to own it. They have owned it from new. It is completely original in every way. Quite distinctive and running, sounding so healthy. Many hands soon get through a bag of spuds.
