We started leaving the clubrooms about 10am with two routes a short and a long with the long being about 50 miles, which ended up at the Waihao Downs catch up. Thanks again1979 to allYamaha that helped make MotorSchool Bike for lunch 1st and a Lex Westoby this another successful rally. We have the three passes run coming up sun the 16th march, so please keep this day free, there seems to be a lot of interest Let’s hope 3 time lucky.(more info in the rolling wheels) Lady Navigator 1stWaihaoDiane 1930 Chrysler I went out to downsRoss School to present them with Roadster a thankyou 2nd Suzanne Anderson 1939 Ford Pickup cheque and a calender, mutch to my surprise they Invited me along 3rdof their Kelly Findlay in area, so 1918 Ford Model to the opening new covered there was quiteTa crowd parents and childen, so I ended up Giving an unexpected speech (bugger), but all went well and they were very surprised to get the calendar and the cheque. Just another reminder if you want to be involved with the running of the club and have your say you have to attend the meetings Thought for the month Try to get better in some way each and every day They say that the room for improvement is always our biggest room THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT

Club Captains Report A return to summer weather, hoping it will last until after the weekend of the 16th. Why you will be asking. Saturday the 16th is the day long in the planning, of the “ Three Passes and Three Gorges� run. Please read the details and information concerning the run in this copy of the Rolling Wheels. The Wallaby Rally was a great success and thanks go to the organisers. Having great weather was wonderful and the lunch venue at the school was very pleasant. Hope to see you all on Saturday 16 th March. Enjoy the lovely driving weather. Suzanne.

Third time lucky! The Waimate VCC is proposing to hold the run on Saturday 16th March. Starting from the club rooms in Harris street 9am for briefing, leaving from 9 30. All members from Waimate VCC and other clubs are invited to participate in the run. Drive vintage or modern.

Waimate Vintage Car Club 2019 Wallaby rally
On Saturday 9th of February the Waimate Vintage Car Club held their annual Wallaby Rally. The day was fine and the 51 entrants, from as far afield as Invercargill and Christchurch, started off from the club rooms in Harris Street. There were two routes. A long route encompassing winding gravel, steep climbs, and great scenic views for 50 plus miles.70k. There was also a shorter route designed for the older, somewhat more fragile vehicle, with easier going and no really steep climbs and heavy gravel. We all finished up at the Waihao Downs School for lunch and a catch up with those not seen for some time. After lunch we had a choice of either straight back to the club rooms, or a stop at the Historic Forks Hotel. Afternoon tea and the presentations of prizes took up the rest of the day, which was the end to a very enjoyable day. The Vintage Car Club would like to thank Farmlands for their support, also the BNZ and of course the members who took the time to organise the day. And not forgetting the Waihao Downs School for allowing us to use their lovely grounds We now look forward to a run in March which will take on 3 passes and 3 gorges across the district.
