They own a 1925 Chevrolet K Superior Tourer which he is in the process of restoring. We hope it’s not too long before we see you out in it. The Club Run to Westport was attended by 40 people, great to catch up with our northern members over a roast meal. Jill and Ted made it to the Cobden bridge in the Austin but ended up in Westport in the modern. I Colin is planning a Club Run for November and will send out his email with details next month, we find that October is busy with the Canterbury Branch Swap Meet and Labour Weekend soon after so we have a rest this month. The Committee has decided to hold their next meeting in Hokitika and invite members along. The venue is upstairs, in an alleyway past the chemist shop on Tancred Street. Lance will have a sign out.
DAFFODIL DAY 25th AUGUST You will have noted in the latest Beaded Wheels that $75,000 was raised nationwide for the Cancer Society. That was a very impressive total.
EVENTS ELSEWHERE I have entry forms for the Nelson Branch – Biennial Rally to be held 8-10 November. Please contact me [7684226] for a copy. Three Model A’s from our Branch recently attended a run over the hill, starting in Christchurch, through to Ferrymead, Sumner and over the newly repaired and opened Port Hills to Lyttelton.
Mark your calendar now, the annual West Coast Scenicland Rally date is 21st March 2020.

SERVICE BADGES – To those members who are nearing 25, 35 or 50 years membership, please contact Membership officer David Campbell. You are entitled to a service badge for your continued membership. Check out the date you joined the Vintage Car Club. NAME BADGES – Also, please contact David Campbell if you would like a name badge. The Branch supplies your first one.
VIC FORMS - A reminder to all members who have VIC cards that are due to expire, you will receive a personalised RENEWAL FORM from the National Office at least three months before the due date. You cannot download a form off the internet. They are personalised for each individual vehicle. Please fill in and hand to Branch Secretary. Please note that new applications can be downloaded from the website or contact the Branch Secretary. If you wish to participate in any National VCC Event, you need to have a Vehicle Identification Certificate, don’t leave it until the last minute as it takes some time for the processing of paperwork. If you sell your vintage vehicle and it has VIC Certification please notify NZVCC, POBox 2546, Christchurch. Ph 03 366 4461 or email: admin@vcc.org.nz
VERO INSURANCE - If you take your Insurance out with VERO they will then pay the Branch a small Commission which helps with Branch finances. Please note that when applying for Insurance cover with VERO you must quote the Branch number which is 36 plus your membership number. Also you are reminded that this scheme is set up for financial members only.
