The vehicle display day, which was also going to be our monthly run to Reefton went ahead last Saturday. Congratulations to Guy and Vanessa for what was a very successful day. Unfortunately the weather forecast was not too hopeful but there was a good display of vehicles and plenty of visitors braved the weather to visit the town for the day. As usual the weather wasn’t as bad as was forecast. Ten came along to the morning tea meeting to kick start these gatherings again on 16 th June, these mornings are always enjoyable. The AGM is to be held on 19th July at the Union Hotel at 2.00pm. This will be followed by afternoon tea and a natter. Cost is $9 per head but the Committee has decided to fund this for members who attend. We require names for catering purposes, could you let Colin or myself know in the next week if you will be coming along. Again, I must emphasise that I will definitely not be continuing as Secretary after the AGM. Elspie Mitchell has taken over the Idle Torque column in the Beaded Wheels mag and she will also be doing the monthly newsletter. Thank you so much Elspie. This will take some time spent off the workload therefore the Secretary will be responsible for managing the Committee meeting minutes, correspondence and communications with National Office and of course, general admin as it comes to hand. David has been handling the membership details and it would be great if we could get someone to put their hand up to do this job. As I keep saying, we are only a phone call away for help. DAFFODIL DAY – This National Day will be held on 23rd August, please note that I had this date wrong in the last newsletter. More details will be provided next month when the new Committee decide what format it will take but mark this date on your calendar now. Flower delivery day will go ahead but the date will be notified when available. ROSCO TRIALS – Work in progress at the moment. CORRESPONDENCE … I have received an email from James Godwin who is from the Cambridge area. James has two vehicles for sales and says they would be great restoration projects, both have been dry stored for 15 years or more. The vehicles are … Vauxhall HC Viva 1800L and 1990 Alpha Romeo 164 If anyone is interested, please contact me and I can give you his phone no. I also have photos which I can forward to anyone who wishes to view them. There were just too many to print here.

VIC FORMS - A reminder to all members who have VIC cards that are due to expire, you will receive a personalised RENEWAL FORM from the National Office at least three months before the due date. You cannot download a form off the internet. They are personalised for each individual vehicle. Please fill in and hand to Branch Secretary. Please note that new applications can be downloaded from the website or contact the Branch Secretary. If you wish to participate in any National VCC Event, you need to have a Vehicle Identification Certificate, don’t leave it until the last minute as it takes some time for the processing of paperwork. VERO INSURANCE - If you take your Insurance out with VERO they will then pay the Branch a small Commission which helps with Branch finances. Please note that when applying for Insurance cover with VERO you must quote the Branch number which is 36 plus your membership number. Also you are reminded that this scheme is set up for financial members only.
