Last month’s Club Run was to Ikamatua where we visited Margaret and John Clayton’s property and enjoyed their beautiful garden. A great time of year as the rhododendrums were in full flower and the trees in their first flush of foliage, absolutely lovely. Thank you both for letting us visit, a donation box resulted in the Cancer Society sending us a receipt for $125.00. This was followed by a BBQ at the Ikamatua Hotel which, as always was enjoyed by all. We welcome six new members to the Branch. Tom MacKay & Tracie Piercy from Hokitika who drive a 1973 Chevrolet Caprice Coup, Rov & Sandra Mehrtens also from Hokitika who drive 1929 Dodge SA Sedan and also John & Anna McInroe from Ikamatua who drive a 1928 Rugby Tourer. Great to have you with us and we look forward to meeting up with you in the future. This month is our Christmas dinner to be at the Kaniere Hotel. Colin has sent out his email but to reiterate, he would like us to arrive early [about 12.10pm] to allow time for payment and a drink prior to sitting down. The cost is $35 per head BUT the Committee has decided to subsidise this by $10.00 pp reducing the cost to $25.00 pp. A gift up to the value of $10 per person is asked for to go into Santa’s bag for redistribution. Please contact Colin if you are not contacted as numbers are required for catering purposes, this is very important. Make you own way to Kaniere to avoid a convey situation. SEE YOU THERE
This is a good time to mark your new diary for the 2020 Scenicland Rally on 21 March. It never too early and it will be March before we know it. NOTE: There is still a small number of members who have not yet paid their subs. Please do so asap if you are intending to do so to maintain your membership.

I now have an entry form and information relating to the new Highland Fling Rally on 24-26 April 2020. This will be hosted by the Bay of Plenty VCC and is promised to be a true outback motoring experience.

SERVICE BADGES – To those members who are nearing 25, 35 or 50 years membership, please contact Membership officer David Campbell. You are entitled to a service badge for your continued membership. Check out the date you joined the Vintage Car Club.
NAME BADGES – Also, please contact David Campbell if you would like a name badge. The Branch supplies your first one.
VIC FORMS - A reminder to all members who have VIC cards that are due to expire, you will receive a personalised RENEWAL FORM from the National Office at least three months before the due date. You cannot download a form off the internet. They are personalised for each individual vehicle. Please
fill in and hand to Branch Secretary. Please note that new applications can be downloaded from the website or contact the Branch Secretary. If you wish to participate in any National VCC Event, you need to have a Vehicle Identification Certificate, don’t leave it until the last minute as it takes some time for the processing of paperwork. If you sell your vintage vehicle and it has VIC Certification please notify NZVCC, POBox 2546, Christchurch. Ph 03 366 4461 or email: admin@vcc.org.nz
VERO INSURANCE - If you take your Insurance out with VERO they will then pay the Branch a small Commission which helps with Branch finances. Please note that when applying for Insurance cover with VERO you must quote the Branch number which is 36 plus your membership number. Also you are reminded that this scheme is set up for financial members only.
