Our Christmas dinner/luncheon at Kaniere was well attended and was enjoyed by all. Zoe from Reefton did the honours by donning the Santa gear and distributing gifts around the tables. Thank you Zoe, you were a mini-Mother Xmas. Of course the weather did not let us down and it was lovely to have a log burner going flat out in the corner. Real Christmassy.
To start 2020 Colin has organised a Club Run to Blackball and those of you on-line should have received his email today [Sunday]. If not, the details are to meet at the usual Greymouth meeting area opposite REPCO from 2.15pm and move off at about 2.30pm for Blackball. We are going to the Blackball Inn [the new one] for afternoon tea at approx. 3.30pm. This will be tea or coffee, a beer or wine and scones with cream and jam, at a modest cost depending on your personal choices. Colin has thoughts that some might like to get together and have an evening meal somewhere on your way home. We have also received an email from Gary Hopkinson reminding us that the Rotary Street Fair is on at the town square from 4pm to 7pm so there is plenty to think about. Our ringers will be on the job and as mentioned before, if you miss when he/she calls, please ring Colin [7686934] with numbers for catering purposes.
We welcome new members to the Branch. Sue and Allan [Pesty] Gibson from The Muffler Shop and Mitsubishi who own a 1934 Austin 10, A 1971 Volkswagon Sedan, a 1970 Wolkswagon and a 1961 4 door Mercedes. We look forward to your company at club events. We were also sad to be advised of the passing of Dave Wells, member who resided in Hokitika. Our sympathy has been forwarded to his family.

SCENICLAND RALLY Is on 21st March and is looming up fast. We really need registrations from our own Branch members [pleeeease], so far I have 15 registrations from around the South Island, so please don’t leave it until the last minute. It has been titled the Scenicland Timber Trail Rally this year and Allan and Maria are busy plotting an interesting route to follow. This will be followed by an evening dinner and prize giving at Shantytown. Everyone should have received an entry form in mid-January, if not please ring me [June] 7684226.

SERVICE BADGES – To those members who are nearing 25, 35 or 50 years membership, please contact Membership officer David Campbell. You are entitled to a service badge for your continued membership. Check out the date you joined the Vintage Car Club.
NAME BADGES – Also, please contact David Campbell if you would like a name badge. The Branch supplies your first one.
VIC FORMS - A reminder to all members who have VIC cards that are due to expire, you will receive a personalised RENEWAL FORM from the National Office at least three months before the due date. You cannot download a form off the internet. They are personalised for each individual vehicle. Please fill in and hand to Branch Secretary. Please note that new applications can be downloaded from the website or contact the Branch Secretary. If you wish to participate in any National VCC Event, you need to have a Vehicle Identification Certificate, don’t leave it until the last minute as it takes some time for the processing of paperwork. If you sell your vintage vehicle and it has VIC Certification please notify NZVCC, POBox 2546, Christchurch. Ph 03 366 4461 or email: admin@vcc.org.nz
VERO INSURANCE - If you take your Insurance out with VERO they will then pay the Branch a small Commission which helps with Branch finances. Please note that when applying for Insurance cover with VERO you must quote the Branch number which is 36 plus your membership number. Also you are reminded that this scheme is set up for financial members only.
Margaret and Les Singer who have recently moved to Christchurch to be nearer family. We hope you have settled in and haven’t forgotten us.
