26th MAY CLUB RUN Our May Club run to Ikamatua attracted about 40 people [plus cars] to visit Sunny Andrews property followed by lunch at the hotel. It was a good day, we left rain in Greymouth and met the sun up the valley where it was quite pleasant up at Ikamatua. Plenty of “stuff” for the men to comb through but I haven’t heard of any projects that are going to be started, yet! Next Club run will be on 28th July. Details will be in next month’s newsletter. BRANCH AGM -9th JUNE We had a good attendance [43] for the AGM and were pleased to gain four new members to come on Committee. Thanks to Ted Beer, Elspie Mitchell, Lynda Tucker for volunteering and also to Jill Cowan who joined us after the meeting closed. We welcome these new Committee members and thank them for their interest. Times are changing and if we want to be able to use our old vehicles, we need to have these new faces to keep the wheels turning. It is a good time to remember that we do belong to a National Association and it is important to be able to keep our representation on the various bodies that work to enable our vehicles to be driven on the road at any time. In some countries this does not happen now. The meeting was followed by a roast and desert, this was a really good meal and get-together. Nice to meet up with Mike Stanley and Helen Murdoch who have recently transferred from Nelson Branch to join up with us. They drive a lovely boat tail Riley which they drove up from Ruatapu. Also another two new members – Tania and Christian Stoop are joining the Club, they own a 1963 Ford Futura convertible. Welcome all of you, we hope you enjoy your outings with us. The Frances Hunter Trophy was presented to Colin Peacock by Chairman Allan Giles for his work over the last three years as Club Captain. Of course we can thank Elaine for her efforts in helping Colin too. Congratulations you two, and you can take turns in polishing it. Hemi Te Rakau spoke to the meeting and outlined how he has had some medical issues which has prevented him from participating in Club activities. Pleased to see you improving Hemi and we look forward to seeing you back with your lovely Morrie 8.
NATIONAL AGM – 16/17 AUGUST This event is getting closer and we are now receiving registrations from all around the country. Local members are invited to the meeting to see how we work on a national basis, and as mentioned earlier we will be seeking help for one or two aspects. We will know how much help we require when registrations close at the end of July. EVENTS ELSEWHERE A reminder that the annual Nelson/Marlborough Snow Run is on 14 th July. I have had no queries as yet, but if anyone is interested in going up to St Arnaud please contact Marlborough Branch Secretary, Chris Bird 035742318/027247108

SERVICE BADGES – To those members who are nearing 25, 35 or 50 years membership, please contact Membership officer David Campbell. You are entitled to a service badge for your continued membership. Check out the date you joined the Vintage Car Club.
NAME BADGES – Also, please contact David Campbell if you would like a name badge. The Branch supplies your first one.
VIC FORMS - A reminder to all members who have VIC cards that are due to expire, you will receive a personalised RENEWAL FORM from the National Office at least three months before the due date. You cannot download a form off the internet. They are personalised for each individual vehicle. Please fill in and hand to Branch Secretary. Please note that new applications can be downloaded from the website or contact the Branch Secretary. If you wish to participate in any National VCC Event, you need to have a Vehicle Identification Certificate, don’t leave it until the last minute as it takes some time for the processing of paperwork. If you sell your vintage vehicle and it has VIC Certification please notify NZVCC, POBox 2546, Christchurch. Ph 03 366 4461 or email: admin@vcc.org.nz
VERO INSURANCE - If you take your Insurance out with VERO they will then pay the Branch a small Commission which helps with Branch finances. Please note that when applying for Insurance cover with VERO you must quote the Branch number which is 36 plus your membership number. Also you are reminded that this scheme is set up for financial members only.
