If you are at a loose end during the month think about coming along to the morning tea at Shantytown. These mornings are always enjoyable and a great way to spend time in great company I would dearly love to hear from members out there with stories/vehicles to share to try and keep the newsletter interesting and relevant. Any contributions greatly appreciated as it is very difficult to source interesting content. Thanks to those who have assisted to date and June and Dave Campbell for their on going support. From the Club Captain :-Hi Everyone - Sunday 28th FEB 2021 is Posh Picnic time . That means you get your china tea cups out along with your silver tea pot , lace table cloth , make asparagus rolls or maybe cream puffs all packed in your picnic basket and meet opposite RepCo in Greymouth, at 10.30, to depart 11.00 . Hokitika members meet us in Kumara at 11.30. We will then travel to Julie and Pat Fitzgerald’s house at Wainihinihi on State Highway73. Instructions will be given on the day how to find the house. You will need your folding picnic table and chairs. There is plenty of parking in the farm yard by the cattle yards . NOT in the house drive way , If the day is not going to be fine plan B is to go to the Fox river food and craft market day. I will let you know a few days before the event. I hope you enjoyed the Christmas meal at Barrytown. Thanks to Alan and Nola Weir for the BBQ to cook the roast meat in and the Christmas crackers and table bling. Reefton put on a good day at their celebrations and 15 cars took up the invite to attend. A very wet start from Greymouth but the sun came out in Reefton which goes to show , don’t stay at home because it looks a bit wet, take a drive and enjoy the day, Also some cars attended the Shanty town event marking 50 years. Scenic land Rally entry forms are out. Rally is on the 20th March , Alan has been busy plotting the route , not an easy task now that all the bush roads have locked gates on them , and working to a tight time frame to fit the events in on the day, Alan is looking for field marshals to help on the day , There are over a hundred emails go out to West Coast members so there must be some people out there to help out. contact Alan Giles , Westland lawn mower Services 7685771, Help make our event a great time for our visitors,

A big thank you this month to Alan and Maria Giles for all their hard work co-ordinating and plotting the rally route. And finally, please note the Club Captains plea for Field Marshals to assist on the day. If you are not rallying please consider this vital role. SERVICE BADGES – To those members who are nearing 25, 35 or 50 years membership, please contact Membership officer David Campbell. You are entitled to a service badge for your continued membership. Check out the date you joined the Vintage Car Club. NAME BADGES – Also, please contact David Campbell if you would like a name badge. The Branch supplies your first one. VIC FORMS - A reminder to all members who have VIC cards that are due to expire, you will receive a personalised RENEWAL FORM from the National Office at least three months before the due date. You cannot download a form off the internet. They are personalised for each individual vehicle. Please fill in and hand to Branch Secretary. Please note that new applications can be downloaded from the website or contact the Branch
Secretary. If you wish to participate in any National VCC Event, you need to have a Vehicle Identification Certificate, don’t leave it until the last minute as it takes some time for the processing of paperwork. If you sell your vintage vehicle and it has VIC Certification please notify NZVCC, POBox 2546, Christchurch. Ph 03 366 4461 or email: admin@vcc.org.nz VERO INSURANCE - If you take your Insurance out with VERO they will then pay the Branch a small Commission which helps with Branch finances. Please note that when applying for Insurance cover with VERO you must quote the Branch number which is 36 plus your membership number. Also you are reminded that this scheme is set up for financial members only.
