The Standard Vanguard Phase III In 1955 came a totally new style of Vanguard: the Phase III It was faster, more economical,lighter and with a roofline cut by 3.5in a lot svelte.Presently, there was a small-engined one, the Ensign, mostly sold to company fleets and the RAF,and the Vanguard Luxury Six,fitted with an all-new 2 litre straight- six engine. Standard could not shrug off the drabness of its own name that was, well a bit standard –sounding, even though it was supposed to evoke patriotic flag hosting. Standard was axed altogether in 1963, its place taken by the altogether more rousing Triumph.

Hint??? Cutting up a pumpkin Instead of cutting into a whole pumpkin and endangering your life, I simply hold it on its side above my head and drop it on concrete with a little force. It will break evenly in two every time and makes cutting slices easier.
Secretary Snippets There are still a few vacant slots in our branch roster for the monthly trips etc. for people to put themselves forward for organising a monthly trip,run,or rally etc. In the past, new members were not expected to organise a visit, trip or rally within the first year or so. Especially, if they had no experience in such things previously. See you on Sunday at 11a.m. at the TRACT Rooms in Bell Road.
