GENERAL BUSINESS: Wallaby run 17th Feb was cancelled it was moved at the executive meeting by Steve seconded K Blackman Suggested to do one of the runs already organised. Ranfurly run cancelled 12th March executive zoom meeting re vote on change to VCC badge. Donald Chamberlain offered to host Moved John Dawson seconded Robbie that Waimate VCC vote in favour of logo change Forklift motor has been removed, will be cleaned and taken to garage In future meetings are to be held at 7.30pm

I think there is a car run being organized to keep the wheels turning otherwise the wheel bearings in our cars will go rusty Hahaha. Keep a look out for more info in the club captain's report. Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Ranfurly Arising Minutes: trip as well. We need members to come forth with some CORRESPONDENCE: safe ideas that we as a club can do and enjoy. Thanks to SteInward: Bulletins ve and his team for finally removing the engine out of the Information from Head Office Forklift Yah. Let's hope it is good news for repairs. I have fiList – subs outstanding nally painted my Imp. Lights bumper chrome etc are back List – new members on. Can't wait to have it back on the road again. I am sitting Regulations re covid reg light in the caravan at the canals at Twizel writing this report. Club Captains Report Effects of Clean Car Standard It was very disappointing for the committee to cancel our Wallaby Rally for this year. We had spent considerable time planning this event. I suppose on the bright side we have all that planning sorted for next year (yeah).
With the current situation we will hold a club run on Sunday the 13th March. Meeting at the club rooms at 10am for a short run and stopping for a picnic lunch. So get ready, pack that picnic hamper, fill the car and turn up. Over the next couple of months until this Covid thing settles I will put together a run each month and get the info out to you all. Hopefully things will get back to some sort of normality soon. Regards Peter
on Vehicle Enthusiast Sector Brief outline of the facts Rather than repeating the information contained in those press releases here, to follow are the basic facts that most vehicle enthusiasts will be interested in. Firstly, and least importantly, the date that the new Clean Car Standard takes effect is 1 April 2022. The date of November being mentioned has no relevance to the new Clean Car Standard.

• Secondly, and most importantly (as stated in the 3 March 2021 press release), the Ministry of Transport is well aware that the enthusiast vehicle community exists, it has consulted with LVVTA extensively about the enthusiast vehicle sector, and it has no intention whatsoever of adversely impacting our hobby. In fact, quite the contrary.
•
• There is nothing in the Clean Car Standard (or any other standard being introduced in the foreseeable future) that would prevent someone from importing and registering an enthusiast vehicle in New Zealand.
•
• From 1 April 2022, every high-emitting vehicle (other than vehicles which fall into an ‘excluded vehicle group’) being registered in New Zealand for the first time (known as ‘entry certification’) will be subject to a charge, which will offset the rebates that are being provided to purchasers of low-emitting vehicles. The charge is applicable only once (when the vehicle first enters New Zealand and is registered). The charge does not apply to vehicles already registered in New Zealand

• A ‘used vehicle’ will be defined as a vehicle which has previously been registered anywhere in the world.
•
• There will be a number of ‘excluded vehicle’ groups (which will be exempt from paying any charge). The exact details of these groups are still being finalised by the Ministry of Transport, but will almost certainly include: o vehicles which are at least 40 years old, which means – currently – 1982 or earlier (note however that the 40year cut-off is what the Ministry of Transport initially proposed, but LVVTA and some other national vehicle associations have suggested that the Ministry give consideration to making the cut-off 30 years old, in order to recognise ‘modern classics’); and o scratch-built low volume vehicles; and o some vehicles modified to enable people with disabilities to self-drive and be transported in; and o legitimate motorsport vehicles (that meet the criteria for the issue of an LVV Authority Card)

Napier, 1900–1924
Engine output reached as high as 90 horsepower, and British Napier production rose to about 700 cars in 1912. During World War I, Napier produced the mighty Lion 12-cylinder aircraft engine—the pistons arranged in three banks of four each. The last car was built in 1924, as Napier concentrated on aero engines. In 1942, Napier was acquired by English Electric, and Rolls-Royce bought the aero-engine business in 1961. The Napier name lives on today as a British turbocharger maker.
