Nothing organised or publicised for this month owing to inclement weather. GENERAL BUSINESS: Brett has the Maxi running but still some work to do before WOF ready. th 6 August Garage Raid run to Timaru approx. 14 interested 31st July Henry Ford day – Open to all make of cars, 9am main street display then run to Makikihi Hotel for lunch. P Bootsma - Power report. D Chamberlain – Heat pump report. Heat pump to be investigated further. th 20 August Fundraiser Cancer Society. Car display, car boot sale & BBQ. 20th August Quiz night at the clubrooms, members a supper plate, BYO, 7pm with 7.30pm start. Gift basket & prizes for winners. th 4 September movie night showing Elvis movie. Have speaker for John’s 50th in October Saturday 23rd July 1.00pm tyres to be stacked at Bluey’s The new forklift has arrived. Disposal of the old one to be decided. Waimate Poultry club 100th show next year. The VCC will help set up and dismantle for donation of $500. Also have a car display and maybe BBQ Our swap meet is 1st Saturday in September just 6 weeks away. 8.00am start, $2 entry fee.

Another month goes by. Don't know about you but we have had our share of rain which didn't interfere with Henry Ford day. Apart from being very cold many thanks to those people that travelled from out of town to attend and to our members as well. I can see that Henry Ford day is going to get very popular. Thanks to Peter for organising the day's events , a short run after the car display and then lunch at the Makikihi Hotel. I took the Imp yah. Finally its official day out although one of the hub caps and wheel trim came off. Here two of us looking in blackberry bushes for them. Luck was on our side we found them. A reminder to all members that Timaru has their garage raid on the 6th of August. We are to be at the Timaru club rooms at 8.45am Saturday have a cuppa and dispatch at 9.30am to the first shed. Thanks to Donald for organising a heat pump for the club rooms. Will keep you posted on progress. That's it for this month.

Henry Ford Day Went Off With Fords Everywhere, great Display, With a few Extras sneaking In.. Great to see the Clubs Maxi In the Middle of the Mix. Jim Cheated and bought his Dodge down But he did have Ford Dice on the Front and Owen's Imp Added to a Bit of Character. Great to See Cars from Timaru and Oamaru. So to Quote Peter, It will be Bigger and Better next year. .We had a nice Run Out the Back and Beyond too Ended up at Makikihi Hotel for Lunch...Stay Safe and Warm.

Librarian’s Report Firstly an introduction, I moved into Waimate a bit over 6 months ago and one of my 1st contacts was the VCC, since then I seemed to have gained a few jobs. My current fleet includes 3 1929 De Soto’s a Coupe, Roadster and truck, a 1909 Brush single cylinder, 1905 Siddley 18hp and a BSA Bantam, most of which are running and used regularly although that changes on a weekly basis. The donation books are now up in shelves after having a major sort out in the rooms to make space. My plan is to sort these into correct cataloguers and sell duplicates.
Please do not borrow books with out talking to me, as once the are catalogued we will have a system in place. The club’s maxi which I have become custodian of, is now up and running better. I have had a few minor jobs to attend to for a WOF when the weather improves and then it can be used on club runs.
A set of rules regarding use of books, and the car will be produced as soon as I get organised, Cheers
