Correspondence;- Copy of the new proposed Blank constitution, Letters from NOVCC re Teapot rally, 20th Oct., Anzac in Action will not take place in 2020 & beyond, NZ President congratulating members on their effort on National Cancer Day. Treasurers Report;- In the absence of Robert, Steve presented the report, as attached, which included $3K for the Waimate Cancer group. Clubrooms;- Margaret said that everything is good. Steve said that he had purchased a deep fryer for the club, moved John Dawson & Lyndsay Hossack Passed Parts;- Keith reported that they had good sales on Swap meet day, & have been given assorted car parts from Margaret Mather & Alan Simmons. Re AGM;- John Dawson gave a brief summary of the meeting & of Diane Quarrie’s presentation of a new image. Club Captain;- Suzanne reported, Teapot rally with NOVCC is to be on Sunday the 20th October, & a club run to Mt Aitken on Sunday 10th of November. Reports moved Steve & Lorraine Richardson passed. Presentation;- The Chairman Steve Dyson welcomed Janice Mehrtens from the Waimate Cancer Society & presented her with a cheque for $3000, proceeds from our efforts for the National Cancer Day. Janice thanked the Club for a superb effort. General;-John Dawson spoke at length re Swap Meet & asked of ways & means to make it better. Stewart Townshend gave a report on the St Johns Ambulance centennial Parade & said we had 6 cars to support it.

Steve said he had purchased a deep fryer for the club, Moved John Dawson & Lyndsay Hossack, ‘that club purchase the deep fryer for $40’ passed Trevor Holland suggested that as our club had quite a few Ford cars in it & as July was quiet month it might be a good idea to hold a ‘Henry Ford Birthday Run’ as his birthday was 30th of July. Meeting closed 8.45pm
Chairman's Report HI EVERYONE Well daylight saving is here so hopefully we will get some good weather Last month was a busy one with National day (weekend) and the swap meet. We had a record day for the cancer society with a$3000 donation for our region a great effort The swap meet also went very well up on last year, not too bad with only a dozen or so sites The parts shed had a really good day up on last year gate takings also up ,so in all a very good month. I think that we are finally getting a good name out there. Just as a matter of interest the vintage car club of new Zealand raised a staggering amount $75000 for the cancer society a fantastic effort Last week I had a ring from Paul Collins from north shore v.c.c ,they are having a run down here on the 14th of October and would like afternoon tea at our club rooms. I feel that we should show our southern hospitality and them a good show with fresh sandwiches e.t.c.so we will need some help thankyou John has done a good job organising the Sunday run to Mount Atkin so let’s have a good turnout As we now have our deep fryer so maybe we could use this more often have a night at the clubrooms (a big fry up) THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH If you spend your whole life waiting Someday may never happen And maybe it’s already a little later than it seems so---- if you want To do it do it while you can Be brave and sail away on your dreams Thanks again for your help and support YOURS IN MOTORING STEVE
CAR CRUISE
Club Captains Report this month we have s couple of events. On Monday the 14th October the North Shore VCC will be calling in to Waimate, and we will have the pleasure of providing afternoon tea and some good old Waimate hospitality for them on their way to Bluff Most members will be working so it will be up to any members who are free to help host our visitors. We will open the club rooms about 1.30 which will give time to prepare afternoon tea. If any members are able please bring your vintage car, and a plate, one or both will be great. On the 20th October we have the Teapot Rally run this year by the North Otago VCC. Details in the Rolling Wheels. Hopefully we will have a great turn out, and fine weather. On the 9th November Pleasant Point Lions Club has organised a classic and vintage car show, raising funds for heart kids. Any one interested will find the details in the Rolling Wheels below. And on the 10th November we have a run to Mt Akin where will have a talk by the owner, and on the way we will have a visit to Vanessa Powell. Hope we will have more settled weather by then. Sunday the 10th November , remember to put this date on your calendar. Leaving the Waimate Vintage Car Club Rooms at 1pm ( sharp) Will be following the leader ..... Travelling out to Waihaorunga , turning at Serpentine Valley Road. Here we will be stopping first at Vanessa & Neville Powells, where Vanessa will show us her Paverpol . There is a shop if any one chooses to buy. From here we travel on up to Mt Aitken on Douthwaites Road . To Meghan & Bob Sutton. (Bear in mind there is 5km of gravel.) This is our afternoon tea stop , hot water supplied . Bring a chair . Bob is going to give a talk about Mt Aitken past and present. If the weather is against us , it will be 2 weeks later on the 24th. On the return journey Home , there is an optional stop at the Waihao Forks Pub.
