John Chenowyth has asked if the Club if they were prepared to sell the horse drawn plough that they have, parts department to negotiate.
Secretary said that he would not be standing again at the AGM.
September 7th
Steve suggested that it might be a good idea if the club looked into the purchase of a of a single phase hoist for the Club. Have to look into Health & Safety, fitting up etc. Members present said for him to look into it.
Suggested that the News letter take its break whilst the Editor is away instead of at Xmas.
August 25th
Chairman has had a quote re calendars, in letter attached, members thought they were to expensive, Perhaps look into alternatives.

Stewart Townshend Said that a estate in Southland has 2 or 3 Hillman Minx for sale, if any one was interested to see him or Trevor for contact address. Some other makes of cars to be auctioned by Turners. Keith asked about getting some form of gutter plates to make it easier to get into side ehed. Meeting closed 8.05.

Arising;- Haven’t got prices for oven repairs yet. Wondered if donation had been paid to Cattle Creek Hall yet. Correspondence;- Usual Newsletters, emails re changes to club manual. Letter re levy, left to AGM, recommendation to AGM to be $16 & $4, ie, $20. Moved Margaret Rogers & Suzanne Anderson Passed Treasurers report;- in Roberts absence delivered by Steve, as per attachment, moved Steve & Trevor Holland, passed. Club Captain, reminded members to get nominations in for AGM. Has arranged for Trevor Joyce to give a talk about model cars etc collecting after meeting on 20 th June. Reminded the Club that she & Barry will be away for 2 months from mid June. Clubrooms;-Margaret reported Robt Todd had asked for loan of trestle from rooms, Ok’ed. The dance group had found an old pie in one of the ovens when they had turned it on. Parts;-Keith & Bill reported that it had been a quiet month. Told members that Aikman Motors had parts & service books for sale for various makes & models. Reports moved Margaret Rogers & Trevor Holland. General Business;- Steve said that he had bought a handsprayer & weedkiller for the Club.
Chairman's Report HI Everyone well another month gone by a sad one for Steve he has just lost his beloved Dougal, So I am writing this for him (Toni Kerr) There was a good turnout at the last meeting,thats what we like to see as more are putting their Input in.There is not a lot going on this month now that winter is on the way, unless some one Would to like to go for a Sunday run or a night out, it has been suggested that that we have a mid-winter Dinner maybe at the Galleon or somewhere similar,or maybe a d.v.d.at the club one night. On the 20th of June we are having Trevor Joyce joining us to give a talk on the interesting Aspect of the collecting of model car, trucks ,etc. At the last we discussed a suggestion about the club getting a hoist Steve to report at the next Meeting (I think the club could do with a dishwasher,haha )

Club Captains Report Firstly l was sorry to hear that Steve’s trusty companion, Dougal is no longer with him. He will be greatly missed. Thank you Toni for writing the chairman’s report for Steve. The A G M will be held on Thursday 16th of this month. It will be a great time to view our lovely new mailbox as you come in the door to attend the meeting; and make a contribution to the running of YOUR club, instead of leaving it to the same few members time after time! Trevor Joyce has kindly agreed to give us a talk on how he started his collection of models. This will be at the June meeting on 20th. Many thanks to Ross and Chris for their report on the South Island rally held at Easter. The Editor loves it when a member sends in a report on some activity they have participated in. 16th May at the Clubrooms From 7.30pm All club members are urged to attend the meeting: Nominations are called for : Chairman and Vice Chairman Secretary Treasurer Club Captain Parts Department, Club Room Convenor, News Letter Editor National South Island Easter Rally 2019 Hi over Easter Chris and I attended the National South Island Rally in Ashburton this was a great event very well run with 174 cars attending .Thanks to Bill Ryan and Keith Blackman for getting our VCC Vic done so quickly .The Rally was held on the Saturday in 3 Groups short ,medium and long runs we went west towards the hills and ended up at Methven for lunch .Then on to Barrhill for a look around ,then on to a private tractor collection very interesting, back to Ashburton for a look at the Bentley shop .Saturday night was a meal at the race course and a great yarn and entertainment .Sunday was a little wet for a start but cleared up a bit for the field tests and Concourse judging that was done under cover and a well attended public display considering the weather .Sunday night was the dinner and prize giving a very nice meal and good speaker and lots more good times with other car people .Monday we went to a amazing car collection at the Sweetmans gee what a great collection of cars from many countries All in all a great weekend of motoring and fellowship was sad to see we were the only car from Waimate .Ross F Brown ,Chris Drummond
