Henry Ford Day 31st July A display of Fords was held in Seddan Square with over 30cars participating followed by a look around Kerry Sullivans collection of Fords to celebrate the birthday of Henry Ford of the 30th July.

Hi everyone. Another month goes rushing past. But I had time to catch Steve and Bill fitting our hot water urn to the wall at the club rooms I left before they switched it on. It should make dish washing a little bit easier. (thanks guys). There has been a little nibble on the maxi that is for sale which is good. Henry Ford day on the Saturday 31st July. Any Ford 30 years or older car or truck are more than welcome to join us. Plus not forgetting Daffodil day on the 21st August. This will be a fun day. Anybody can join in the activities. This is to raise funds for Cancer. So if you are game come along and have your head shaved or give a donation. W. O. W. Support for our garage raid day. Many thanks to those surrounding club's that supported a great day. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Many thanks again to Jill and Lorraine and helpers who put together the pea pie and pud. Great lunch. The people that also deserve recognition are those people that open their sheds up for us to look in and enjoy. Great displays. Finally thanks to Peter and team for organising a fantastic day. Cheers.

Club Captains Report Its been a busy couple of weekends for club members with the Shed Raids and the Henry Ford Day. Both events were well attended with around 75 attending the shed raids and around 27 cars on display for the Ford day with $53.80 raised for the Cancer Society. I would like to thank all those Club Members that helped with both days including catering, allowing our visitors from Ashburton, Timaru and North Otago clubs to look through their sheds and putting their cars on display. Honourable mentions go out to Steve Dyson, Robbie Wilson, Murry Dempster, Ian Leathwick and Kerry Sullivan. As a small club, we have flown the Waimate flag and showcased our great community. Don’t forget this months Daffodil Rally noting the dates advertised in the last newsletter were incorrect. This event will be held on 21st and 22nd August. The swap meet will be held on Saturday, 4th September, not 3rd September as previously advertised. My apologies for these errors. I will be getting refresher training on reading calendars. Coming Events 2021 August Sat 21st - Daffodil Rally Starting with a club car display & BBQ on Queens Street in front of the markets. There will be a fee to show your car and a gold coin donation, all donated to the Cancer Society. All enquires to Steve Dyson – steveandaj@xtra.co.nz Sun 22nd at the Club Rooms from 2.00 pm. Hair cuts/shaves to raise more money for the Cancer Society. We also have ‘Poppy’ the movie running at the Regent Theatre at 5.30 pm. Tickets are $15.00 each.

Garage Raid 2021 hosted by Waimate . With over 80 attending from Ashburton, South Canterbury,North Otago. With visits in the morning to Leathwicks collection of MF Tractors and the V8 powered air boat and Robbie Wilson and Steve Dysons . Followed by lunch of Pie, spuds and peas at club room . Afternoon visits were to Murray Dempster collection of armament's followed by Peter Bland motor bikes. A very successful day and thanks to all helped out.
September Sat 4th - Annual Swap Meet. Sellers can set up their stalls from 7.00 am. Gates open at 8.00 am. Volunteers are needed on the Friday afternoon from 3.00 pm to help set up for the swap. Thank you. October Sun 17th Oct - Tea Pot Rally. This year the Nth Otago Club will be hosting this event. I am still waiting on information from their club on this event. November Sat 20th - Mystery Run. Still a mystery - more details to be advised as soon as we have them. I am also hoping to organise lunch with the North Otago Club and Ten Pin Bowling afternoon during Nov. Date to be confirmed. December Christmas Lunch/BBQ Date TBA.
