Motorcycle Report Happy New Year everyone we had a good turn out with 6 bikes comprising (1963 AJS 31, 1961 BSA Golden Flash , 1947 Harley Davidson WLA , 1990 Honda , 1941 Indian 741B ,1969 Triumph Bonneville and Toyota Hilux recovery vehicle. Ron was there to see us off as we rode off after 1.00pm heading south on SH1 to the Mangapai turn off to say the traffic was heavy would be an understatement at the turn off to Maungapai the vehicles heading north were backed up to the Oakleigh service station and one kind person gave us enough room to cross onto the Mangapai road and we carried on through to Maungakaramea heading across Weki road through to Whatatiri road and regroup at Poriti. Weather conditions were great nice and sunny and dry roads meant for a pleasant ride and no break downs so we did not require Martins vehicle recovery services was still great he was there just in case For first outing in 2021 the group was smaller in numbers possibility people away on holiday it was great to catch up with everyone who was riding hopefully we will see more riders next month. Dargaville Doings
We have our first Club Run of this year happening on the 14th of February. The run is organised by Robert and Ngaire Wade from Dargaville, they have generously offered to set the tour for us to enjoy a Sunday outing at the beach, it will bring us out into the Kaipara Harbour area for a picnic and a swim if you like. Most roads will be sealed, only the last stretch to the beach is gravel. High tide is at 1.30. We are meeting at the clubrooms at 9am for a 9.30 departure. What to bring: Picnic lunch, water, chairs, umbrella or gazebo. Togs and towels for swimming and a hat and suntan lotion. There are toilets and changing rooms available. Looks like a good day to get the car back on the road and give it a bit of a run.
