Good weather again for this event but exhibitors and crowd numbers probably down from usual attendance. Paul McNabb and his trusty Model A tootled along for the day. It was the only South Otago Vehicle present, so thankyou Paul for making the effort and providing a report.

January 2020 A brand new year has begun with a mixture of weather and terrible news of the fires in Australia with so much devastation. We think of all those who have lost their loved ones, homes, vehicles and the many animals that are suffering too. We have so much to be thankful for here in New Zealand.
Edendale Crank up 25th-26th January. Featuring European Tractors and Japanese Cars (pre 1990’s) Special Guest Bill McCarthy 53rd Gore Festival Rally – Saturday 22nd February 2020. Winner of the 2019 Clutha Rally was Stuart and Lynette Neill of Dunedin who rallied their 1939 Dodge D11. Wednesday Run held in December to Toko Mouth via Kaitangata, Wangaloa and Measlsey Beach was very successful. A good turnout with 17 cars, 1 Motorcycle = 46 people. With some from the Otago Branch attending for lunch and a catch-up. After lunch Neville King played some old time music on the Gramophone then a Thermette race with 6 participants was held being won by Phil Sell. The car Christmas decoration winner was Murray Lloyd and Carol who also provided the key for the Hall. A raffle was held which raised $71 after giving $10 for the use of the Hall. Thanks to everyone for you generosity. A big thanks to Gaynor for her baking which is always enjoyable and June Scherp for Grapes and Chocolates. President Robin thanked the group and the Dunedin visitors for coming. This picnic day was a good finish to another year of enjoyable monthly outings. (Thanks to Shelia Paterson for the report) Wednesday Run 5th February 2020 - Meet at the Clubrooms 11 a.m. or Beaumont at 12 noon to travel to Roxburgh for lunch at the Domain. A time to buy fruit or Jimmy’s Pies also. Later a coffee at the Millers Flat Tavern. Ian McDonald has an interesting Run for 4th March with details in next month’s Newsletter.
Steamer, also will show a short DVD on its first steam up in 60 years with Mel providing supper. Reminder will be in next Split Rim.
