Moped Run – Sunday 3rd April 2022 1.30 p.m. Invercargill V.C.C. Clubrooms Motorcycle Group outing 12 March – Roger Smaill reports An informal ride on Saturday with six bikes from Dunedin and two from South Otago. A coffee at Lawrence followed by lunch by the punt at Tuapeka Mouth. We then travelled via Clinton back with everyone dispersing from there. Roger was pleased how the day worked out in the end and the Covid risk was minimized as best as could be. Everyone who took part was accepting of the situation and just enjoyed the outing.

March 2022 The passing of Foundation member Stuart Milne leaves a huge gap in the life of his family. They have grown up being involved in Vintage Car Club from their early days with Stuart’s involvement, everything for many years revolved around what was happening at the Club, working bees, Swap Meets, Rallies and events. So many things enjoyed with all our friends both near and far. Wee son Peter enjoyed helping his Dad in the garage with the Model T that Stuart was putting together. Our next car was a Hillman that took us on many Weekenders with fellow members. Stuart enjoyed seeing parts of the South Island that he had never travelled to before. Following a mishap with this car we were able to purchase our 1967 6/110 Wolseley which Stuart really enjoyed driving and over the last few years being co-pilot- kept running smoothly by fellow member Gordon Duthie. There will certainly be some vying for the use of the Wolseley in time to come as each son enjoys the drive just as Stuart did. Mum “Please keep the Beaded Wheels coming” was a comment heard too. The family wish to thank everyone for their kindness to us at this time as we cherish our memories of Stuart.

At the February meeting Secretary Gary reported on the purchase of the new computer for the Club that has the capability to handle all that is required for Club business.
Coming Events
March Wednesday Run Report – Members enjoyed another great outing thanks to Trevor Stoddart for organising this.
Paul will not be accepting a nomination to the branch treasurer position at the next AGM in June, and a new reviewer will also be required. Paul will provide training and guidance in the relevant procedures and responsibilities as needed.

Meet at the Clubrooms for an outing on all sealed roads to the Catlins Museum. Port Molyneux for a cuppa to finish the outing. An entrance fee is required at the Museum.
