June 2021 Club members will remember past member Kerin Tweed who enjoyed outings and rallies with wife Glennys in their Morris Minor and Vauxhall. Kerin had been unwell for some time and unable to participate in club activities. We acknowledge his passing and send condolences to the family. Snippets from the May meeting: Discussion on the Daffodil Day fundraiser – Chairman to contact Otago Branch. 21st National Veteran Rally poster for the noticeboard. October 29th – 31st being run by the Central Otago Branch. Members advised that positions will be coming vacant at the A.G.M. Club Captain Martin has indicated he wishes to step down. Tiffany Jenks to attend the August meeting to speak on preserving South Otago history. Report on Wednesday Run by Shelia & Jay Paterson 12 cars and 27 people attended. Lovely day, sun shining again. The route was shortened due to the last few days of rainy weather and intending to travel on gravel roads. Left clubrooms to Clinton on SH1 turned onto Clydevale Road to the Greenfield Tavern for afternoon tea. 1 car from Milton Good to see the Campbell's and Golds joining for the day.
Wednesday Run 7th July 2021 Meet at clubrooms 1.30pm for a tarseal run of approx. 70k with a look over a collection ending with tea /coffee at Kaka Point.
Annual General Meeting 7.30 p.m. 29th June 2021 Each year we hold an Annual Meeting to set in place those who offer their time and talents to run the Club for you the members. Without these willing people we do not have a Club as we know it. Our group are known for their friendship and enjoyment of gatherings and outings – this year will be the celebration of 50 years of the South Otago Branch – what a great achievement. I dearly hope we can continue on.
Annual Dinner 16th July 2021 To be held at the Milton Country Club 6 p.m. for meal at 6.30 p.m. Chairman Robin has organised for a 2 course meal at the Country Club Milton catered by Kelly’s Kitchen – he is taking names for this evening and these need to be to Robin by 7th July. Auction Night Gather up your bits and bobs as this year it is our turn to host the Vintage Machinery Club for the Annual Auction Night to raise funds for each Club. A great social occasion to join together for some fun. Supper plate appreciated please also items for the auction table to be sold. National A.G.M. & 75th Celebrations are being held in Christchurch 13th – 15th August 2021, members are being encouraged to attend. Registrations close 31 July.
