8-10 October 2021 – Canterbury Swap Meet Hi there fellow club members and welcome Cutler Park – Mclean’s Island Road. to this report from the Chair for July. I do 2929-31 October 20212021- National Veteran Rally hope you are all weathering this very cold – Cromwell. See note at bottom of the page. section of our southern winter? The planning for the National Motorcycle Rally in 2023 is in its early stages; but well on the way with three routes being planned, one for each class: short, medium and long. As you may be aware, the plan is to have this rally between the Southland Rally and the Burt Munro and we are moving ahead in that direction: more later.

Our grounds team of Olly Olsen and Stevie Randle have been hard at work and reorganised the area before the parts shed, putting up shelves etc and rediscovering old signs, some of which will find themselves on the front of our new bar.

Plans are afoot to repaint the Clubrooms, inside and out; specs are being put together and a list of prospective painters will be asked to submit a price and recommendations. It is with regret that I record the passing of Keith Shieffelbein, on Thursday 15th July at his daughter’s home in Wellington. A service of celebration of his life is being held at the Crematorium Chapel on Thursday 22nd at 2.00 PM. A good attendance of club members would be appreciated. Continued Page 2

Speaking of new bar, Peter Pryde and a keen team of helpers have demolished the old bar, re-routed the plumbing etc. in preparation of the new unit to be installed – well done Team Pryde!
