Chairman’s Report I hope you are all safe and well and have been out when possible, enjoying your vehicles. There have been plenty of opportunities for enjoying what the Branch has to offer members during the past month. So no matter what type of vehicle you own, there have been meetings and runs to enjoy as well as Club night. The Club Captain’s report gives a very good overview of what happened during the month of July. It is exciting to see a member put a book together and get it published. Congratulations to Barry Birchall for doing this. The books are $40.00 to members. Daffodil Day annual VCC fundraising events are next month and I encourage you to come along to the Golden Dinner on Saturday 21 st August. Lynda tells me that there will be some fun events run during the course of the evening, so bring along some cash with you to take part and raise some funds for this worthy cause, and don’t forget the Daffodil Day run the following day. Rain has stopped play, or rather rain has stopped the Clubrooms exterior being repainted. The contractors were all ready to go when bad weather hit. It is expected now, that the repainting won’t start until probably September, time when the weather starts to improve! We are such a lucky Branch with the calibre of speakers we get to come along to the Club. If you have someone you think would be a good speaker, please contact me. You may have heard John & Pat Campbell are moving northwards, which means the monthly Commercial section meetings on a Wednesday night have now come to an end. However, Commercial section members are very welcome to go along to the Vintage section meetings, who have a number of members already with commercial vehicles. They look forward to seeing you on a Saturday instead. Angelique, our Branch Charabanc is still looking for people to start to learn the ways of caring for her. She is an old lady, with many nuances that require people now, to learn from the present crew on what is required and how to maintain her. Also, she needs some new blood to learn how to drive her. So if any of this sounds like you, please contact John Stokes for more information. Remember our Library is a brilliant source of historical information on your vehicles. You can borrow a book for a very small donation. Keep those 2, 3, 4 or more wheels turning safely. Martin Spicer

Secretary’s Notes A month since the AGM and new Committee members have settled in and roles and responsibilities assigned. There are plenty of events coming up both for the Branch and National events. The North Island Club Captains Tour, National Veteran Rally and the National Motorcycle Rally are coming up along with Rotorua’s Sulphur City Rally in August and of course the National AGM in Christchurch mid August. Thanks go to those who have taken the time to send me feedback around the new Club logo. Next month’s Bulletin should have a full report on how the National AGM and Executive meetings went. Remember you need to have registered your entry for the Vero Festival of Motoring by August 31. If you need any assistance with this, please feel free to give me a call. From the Committee table: the painters await some decent weather to complete the exterior painting of the Clubrooms, further quotes have been obtained for the toilet renovations, we are trying to improve the layout of the toilets within the current footprint. The Health and Safety Policy ably put together by Don Green has been adopted. We will look to run another safety training session for the barn equipment as soon as there are sufficient numbers. If you are interested in this, please let myself or Don Green know.

The ASB Bank, whom we have our accounts with, have advised us cheques will not be processed after 27 August this year. We will be removing cheques as a form of payment across all our entry forms and any other event where payment is required. Club Captain’s Report Wow, another month has sped past – a pity we can’t slow down time when it slips by with the blink of an eye. Martin and I both completed our second Covid 19 Vaccinations having them done in Pukekohe, very fast and efficiently run centre. John Stokes’ Veteran section continues to have good attendances and it was pleasing to see that a new member was into Veteran vehicles and no doubt will get a lot from going along to John’s monthly meetings. The Motorcycle section had another great meeting, with a guest speaker who kept their attention for over an hour. Terry is a very interesting man and he has agreed to come along to a Club monthly meeting to speak. The Mid-week tourers (open for everyone to enjoy) had another excellent finish venue and all kudos to them to keep finding places of interest to visit. Murray’s Vintage section continues to grow, even a motorcyclist or two have been attending. This group covers those who own vehicles from 1919 to 1931, a great era of the motor industry, covering those trusty Model A and Model T’s just to name two vehicles. There is a lot of very useful information exchanged at these meetings and a great place to start if you are seeking a part or repair advise. Again, if you are thinking about buying a vehicle of this era, go along to their meetings. The Motorcycle monthly run went to AV SPECS at Ardmore Airport. All club members were welcome to attend. This event attracted 9 motorcycles and 6 cars enjoying the country jaunt from the Jolly Farmer to Ardmore, a run of about an hour. AV SPECS are Warbird aeroplane restorers and their workshop was amazing seeing what current restorations they are currently undertaking. Derek was very generous with his time in explaining what was going on with each project and giving the group the history surrounding the aircraft. When one sees how some WW2 aircraft were built, some all of wood, it seemed even more of a miracle of the huge accomplishment those brave airmen made and the hard fought battles won. It was very much a WOW moment for me. Some members participated in other Branch’s events, such as the R’Oil Can Rally with all those who participated thoroughly enjoying the event. A few members also went to the Rotorua Swap meet. Remember, as a member of the Vintage Car Club, you can participate in any Branch’s event and a lot of members do just this. It is a lovely way of meeting other like-minded folk from different parts of the country. And, talking about out of town events, have you gotten your entry in yet for the 2022 International Rally in New Plymouth? If not, entries close soon. If your vehicle needs a VIC this will need your attention too, but please do not leave this until the last minute. Get this done early. July’s Club night saw Christine Rupp come along to give us a talk. Christine is the person in charge of all the JP’s in New Zealand covering all the required administration work, a huge task and a job she has done for many years. She is also currently a member of the Counties Power Community Trust Board and is seeking re-election again this year. She has served on this board again for many years too. Christine is very community minded and has lived in Hunua for about 25 years. She was a great speaker with a lot of humour and extremely

Club Captain’s Report Contd.. knowledgeable about fundraising, JP procedures and warrants, Identity theft and money laundering just to name a few things. Approximately 35 members were in attendance, so those of you who didn’t come along missed a jolly good evening. The Club run for Sunday 27 July was a cheese and wine event. We had 12 cars at the start and 26 members in attendance, plus Martin and I. The participants completed about 83 km from Drury to Pokeno – a gentle country jaunt. There were two tastings of cheese, one before leaving the start and the other at the ¾ stop - not one person got both cheeses correct. Cheese 1 was a Colby and Cheese 2 was an Edam cheese. At Mercer they were able to view the South African locomotives that are awaiting restoration, owned by Mainline Steam, whose new Head Quarters, workshops etc. and a station will be at Mercer. One of these locomotives has 16 driving wheels. The run finished at our farm for a large selection of cheeses, biscuits, fruits, savoury scones and accompaniments. They were also treated to as many glasses of wine as they wanted, of Sav. Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and a Rose sparkling variety. All of these wines were ZERO alcohol and for a number of people there, including myself, their first experience trying non alcoholic wine. It was very nice. A very convivial afternoon tea was spent just chatting and chilling out, tasting different varieties of cheeses and of course non alcoholic wines. My thanks to Martin for plotting this event for me, as I was very time poor this month, as my business had been very busy. By the time you read this, we will have held the Official Launch event, for Barry Birchall’s book which he has just had published, about the early motoring history of Auckland from 1900-1940 covering all vehicles. If you didn’t make it to the launch and would like a copy please contact Barry direct. The cost of the book to members is $40.00 plus postage. Coming event: GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY DINNER – SATURDAY 21ST AUGUST, $20.00 per head. See the advert in this Bulletin, but please send your bookings to me as soon as possible. We are going to have an evening of good food, good company and some fun events, raising money for the VCC annual charity bash for Daffodil Day. DAFFODIL DAY RUN – SUNDAY 22ND AUGUST – Starting at the Clubrooms. We will be joined by another car club, to raise funds for Daffodil Day. We will be visiting some Retirement Villages who have requested a visit from us with a selection of old vehicles. Please come along and help us raise some funds for Daffodil Day and to be able to give people in the Retirement Villages a walk down memory lane and maybe able to sit in a car or two and reminisce. Stay safe, remember to keep signing in wherever you go including the Club rooms. I look forward to seeing you out and about attending meetings, Club nights and other events. Motorcycle Notes The weather forecast for the weekend wasn't good, so we weren't surprised that there were not any motorcycles park at the clubrooms, but there were a lot of cars parked in the car park and the street for the July Motorcycle meeting. Around 60 members in attendance, including one visitor, Carl Stevens and new member Gordon Merrit. Martin informed us that Ian Bell has had a new hip fitted. Reports: Martin reported about the recent Branch AGM, where he was re-elected as Chairman, Don Green was re-elected as vice chairman, Tracey Winterbottom was re-elected as Secretary and Lynda Spicer was re-elected as Club Captain, Alistair Moffat is now our Treasurer, also on Committee are Shaaran Price, John Stokes, John Morrison and Graeme Crawley. Martin told us about the June motorcycle run that went to Malcolm Anderson’s home, work shop and man cave, a great place for a visit. Peter Alderdice told us about the Rotorua swap meet, its a far cry from the good old days. General Business: Don Green showed us a new set of header pipes that he has made for his 1968 Norton Commando. This model is rare and he couldn't find any for sale, so made them himself and had them chrome plated. They look great, but he says he will have to increase the bikes insurance cover now because of the price of the chrome plating. Guest Speaker: The guest speaker was member Terry Doherty ably, assisted by his wife Heather. He had two elder brothers who rode motorcycles, which led Terry onto them as well. Sid Doherty, his older brother, was heavily involved in motorcycle racing on BSA Gold Stars. Jim Doherty was on the Speedway Control Board and was the NZ International Steward and President of the Hutt Valley Motorcycle Club when it closed and recently passed away in Wellington. Terry’s motorcycle collection consists of a modern Moto Guzzi V711, a Honda CB 400 SS and his favourite is a 1969 BSA Lightning purchased from Graham Viall. He is waiting to restore his crashed Suzuki Katana. Terry was part of a Drag racing team in the 1970’s that used a supercharged Honda 4 ridden by Ray Peterson, running 80% Nitro methane, which was the first NZ bike to get under the nine second time for the ¼ mile. Terry was involved with the startup of the Meremere Drag racing strip. He said the team at Meremere were also involved with the development of the first electronic timing devices in NZ for the builder Compulink out of America. He and Heather are still found at the drags, with Heather collecting the entry money and operating the timing gear, while Terry is working in the pits to get the racers to the start line. He told us about his work for Spark in his last years before retiring, where he was involved with the communication undersea cable that comes from the USA, to Hawaii ,then onto NZ and Australia, telling us about repairing the cable when it gets broken. There is a ship based in Hawaii that is used for finding where the cable is lying broken - via satellite GPS. This ship cost $1 million dollars a day to hire. Terry’s other hobby is collecting antique pocket watches, of which he has over 200 so far. A few members brought along their own watches for Terry to have a look at.

Mid Week Tourers Our run last month saw over twenty starters (I lost count about then) set off from Drury in not so nice weather. Just as well our plotter, Jo Bieleski, had the foresight to arrange the Clarks Beach Yacht Club facilities to be available for our lunch. The Commodore of the Club was there to welcome us and welcome us she did! The route took us over familiar countryside, but in different ways and with instructions written in slightly different format to usual. I, for one, thought it very refreshing, it just goes to show the value of viewing things in a different perspective. We roamed around Karaka, Paerata, up Pukekohe Hill, through Puni and onto the Aka Aka swamp, back to Mauku, Patumahoe and Waiau Pa, then to the finish at Clarks Beach Domain. New roads were found and old roads traversed in the opposite direction, making some of them seem new. Well done Jo! Old faces were there, some cars new to mid-weeking and no doubt some members also. If we missed you, welcome anyway.

Veteran Notes July’s meeting saw several away at the Wellsford/Warkworth Winter Woollies run. Despite this we had an attendance of about twenty people, including Monty Scarborough and Kit Maxwell who came some distance to get there. David Lane drove his 1912 Ford T speedster down, a good effort considering the weather has cooled somewhat. Barry Robert has been assisting Barry Birchall with the final checking of his soon to be published book on the history of motoring and car dealerships in Auckland. Phil Henley has been busy with his 1913 60hp Mitchell. He has altered the valve timing 1 degree on the inlet cam and 2 degrees on the exhaust cam and is reporting increased performance and economy. He used data from American La France engines and information from Peter Le Gros and also showed a photo of a circa 1910 Napier that is for sale. David Lane is giving Bryan Belcher a hand to keep Bryan’s vehicles clean. David also showed a Kenda motorcycle tube which would fit a wooden felloe wheel. However, the valve stem has to be lengthened to get through the felloe. John Morrison has his 1916 Briscoe sorted out. Kit Maxwell is using his 1913 Maxwell 6 as a shopping basket, although he notes the float in the oil level gauge isn't working. He also spoke about various clubs and social events for historic cars in the Waikato area. Barry Birchall mentioned that his book is at the printers, after several years work. I have seen a copy and it looks well worth a read. The book will have been launched by the time you read this. Barry was also making enquiries about the remains of the Moses/Lawrence Veteran Daimler, destroyed by fire in the 1960's. Dennis Lowe is still working on carburettors for the Curved Dash Oldsmobile and was seeking a source of number drills. Trade Tools was recommended. Monty Scarborough has finished his son in laws 1924 Model T Ford and with his son in law driving it and Monty in his 1913 car, they went to see Wilbur Brown, the former owner of the 1924 in Matamata. Monty had to advise his son in law to take it easier on a new engine. Russell Vincent is working on another single cylinder Cadillac, this time a 1904 model and he has most of the major components. David and Beverley Oliver have been to the South Island and visited several museums. That's it for this month. John Stokes

Library Notes Our notes for July are dedicated to the launch of a book written and recently published by Barry Birchall, a member of our Library team. The book is ‘The Early Years of the Motor Vehicle in Auckland’ and Barry acknowledges that our Library has been a great source of information and material at every stage of his research, especially from back issues of magazines such as NZ Motor and Cycle, Beaded Wheels and so on. Our photograph collection has also played a key role in providing many of the photos included. As a group of fellow old car enthusiasts, it gives us great pleasure and satisfaction that the work of many club members over the years has contributed to the volume of historical information that we take care of and that one of us has created such a worthwhile book for so many to enjoy. Those of us with this keen interest in the history of motoring and motor vehicles, particularly in Auckland, may well wonder why this book has not been produced until now. We have come across all manner of books and magazines published over the years, but that Auckland-specific motoring information that they contain, has never before been compiled into one complete volume. Well, now, roughly one hundred and twenty years on, it has and thanks to Barry Birchall for undertaking the very considerable work involved in writing and compiling his book. The sources of Barry’s work are too many to list here, but they are listed and acknowledged very well in the book. The complete work covers 250 pages and it is full of interesting stories and heaps of supporting photographs, data tables and so on. The history starts around the year 1900 with the very first cars arriving in Auckland, then methodically progresses on through those pioneering days prior to the first World War and through the War, then the inter-War years, the Great Depression, into the ‘30’s and finishes at the Second World War. The narrative is methodically worked through these main categories:  Horse drawn vehicles to the motor car  Promoting the car, (as a useful invention)  Stuck in the mud, (from atrocious roads to tarmac)  Rules, regulation, taxes, and legal requirements  The Petroleum industry  Dealers and associated motor industry companies  Appendix: - Sales statistics, Cars, motorcycles, index etc. Events which influenced the progress of motoring, including the Wars, Government Policy (or lack thereof), the efforts of the many dealers to promote and sell their chosen make/models, with endurance events, publicity stunts etc., yes, it’s all in there. One aspect the book does cover well and which is almost unique, is the movement of various makes of car from dealer to dealer. Several makes were transferred multiple times and this has never been documented so well and in one place, until now. The section dedicated to the dealers themselves is very well set out, with the likes of Henning, Miller, Andrews, Seabrook, Campbell, Farrell, Dexter and many more, all featured.

Library Notes Contd.. Then another section which covers the formation (or lack thereof) of roads around the Auckland area and the horrendous conditions that early Auckland motorists and their vehicles endured makes for special reading. The publication is particularly well laid out and, in particular, the positioning of appropriate photographs relevant to the narrative has been very well done, making the story even more readable. Yet another worthy feature is the attention that has been paid to acknowledging each donor or source of photographs. For example, AVVCC Library, Auckland City Library, NZ Herald/papers past/ private collections and so on. Books like this which are so pertinent to our cvehicles and their history are rarely available and the Library is proud to have a copy on our shelves. Vintage Notes We started the July meeting with our normal attendance but Auckland traffic chaos meant quite a few people arrived late but soon our numbers swelled to a new record. Several faces new to our group were in evidence and I hope they enjoyed the discussions. As usual, we went around the table. Neil Lucas spoke of trouble maintaining old split rim wheels. With every welding repair they distort a little more, making them harder and harder to fit. Richard Green however, is very impressed with some new ones he had made in the South Island. Tim Gray has his Ford T almost ready for vinning. He also has a substantial collection of old spark plugs which I would love to see. Norm Dewhurst’s Essex has been diagnosed as having a rumbling centre main bearing, but he is hoping that removal of a couple of shims will keep it running on light duties, as on removal of the bearing cap the damage does not appear too bad. Richard Green then introduced our discussion subject. Rust. Its removal could involve anything from molasses to electrolysis, walnut shells to glass beads and numerous proprietary treatments. The discussions were enthusiastic and very informative. John Tower presented a very interesting demonstration on a rusty panel he had tried quite a number of different treatments, all of them labelled. Thank you John. The one that caught my eye was the hydrochloric acid left to work for a while before being neutralised with baking soda. John also had a photo of progress on his 1929 Chev. The new American ash frame looks great. He priced NZ pine which was dearer – you would have to wonder why! Murray & Penny Firth

Commercial Notes The July meeting had us welcoming Neil Lucas to the table. Neil told us the last Commercial meeting he can recall attending was when Graham McLean was the co-ordinator. Hands up all who remember Graham. It was good to see John Wolf as well on this night. Much of the evening was spent, checking out the fabulous collection of commercial vehicles in the IOWA Truck Museum,

courtesy of Lachlan Rendall, who made the trip there pre Covid 19. Lachlan had them all on his Lap Top. Murray Firth handed me an A4 sheet of paper to read. It was from Waka-Kotahi. You know, it used to be called NZTA. After all this time they have looked at Murray’s request for dispensation from the brake test rollers and granted him complete freedom from a C.O.F. test. Instead his 1932 British Bedford now enjoys the status of a Light Goods Vehicle up to 3000kg and only requires a Warrant of Fitness. This means surely, that he can obtain a warrant from any issuing authority, not necessarily one that uses the brake roller testing machines. Shades of the “squeaky wheel” syndrome. I had previously intimated that with our move to Parakai (Helensville), my tenure as Commercial Rep., would come to an end. With no great rush to fill this position, I will hang in there a bit longer. Keep M Rolling John Campbell

July Club Night It was a pleasure to bring Christine Rupp to our July Club night. She is one of those people in a district who can make things happen. I asked her to come as she is the Registrar for the JP Association to which I belong, but I was unaware of the Counties Power Trust role which is significant and valuable. Most impressive was the ease with which she mixed with members well after her presentation. It is the first time I have been asked by several members to find a way to have Christine return and I have passed this on to Christine, who also has a classic Mercedes car. It will be worth sending Christine the Bulletin. It seems that we must realize that our members have a wide range of interests and that our selection of speakers should reflect this, a good lesson for me. Christine has wide experience of local and international issues and can answer questions with great capability. There is much yet to be heard of her personal journey. While we have wives and partners as exemplified by the Club Captain, Secretary and Bulletin Editor who are dutiful, compliant and subservient to a fault. Robin Elliot

Entertainment Notes Guest Speaker for the August Club Night will be member Terry Doherty who will talk about the formation of Meremere Dragway in the early 1970’s. Also his work for Spark, which entailed him being on the ship that repairs the undersea communication cable which comes from the USA to Hawaii, then to New Zealand and Australia. Terry has a collection of over 200 pocket watches. If anyone has a pocket watch or old wrist watch, do bring it along to show him. Martin Spicer

July Motorcycle Run The weather forecast for the July Motorcycle run was for strong winds and heavy rain, which we received over night. Lynda and I arrived at the Jolly Farmer Drury at 11:30am to find only one motorcycle and rider waiting, John Poole on his Norton Commando, but then many more arrived. We travelled on great empty rallying roads through Ponga, toward Hunua before entering Ardmore Airport and parking outside the hanger of AV SPECS. I had a count up of vehicles, which comprised of 9 motorcycles, mainly Matchless, Triumph, Norton, BMW and Suzuki, two red cars being Leo Fowler's Austin Bug eyed Sprite and Brian Hoskin’s 1950’s Riley RML, plus 9 modern cars. Derek Smith our host at AV SPECS rode with us on his Norton Commando and gave a guided tour of the hanger telling us about the planes they are working on. There was an American WW2 all aluminium Curtiss Hawk 75 fighter with a radial engine that was used by the Finnish Air Force, which should be finished by the end of the year. There are two Grumman Widgeon seaplanes being restored. They have a De Havilland Dominie, an all wooden two engine plane. Awaiting work in the future is a WW2 Japanese Kawasaki Ki -61 Hein fighter plane, which came with 3 spare engines. Also parked in the hanger is a Chipmunk trainer and a two seater Spitfire. For those that don't know, AV SPECS have restored/built 3 Spitfire’s, the two seater has been repaired four times, two major and two minor repairs. They have built three De HaviIland Mosquito's and there are two more in the pipeline. Derek showed us the two engines that are in many hundreds of parts that he is working on for the De Havilland Dominie. Other restorations, P40C, DH Rapide, co-restored with Pioneer Aero Restorations four other P40s. Past restorations were a DH Rapide and four Curtis P40’s. We left after a very enjoyable time at AV SPECS, thank you Derek for letting us see and hear about the very rewarding work that you and your colleagues do. Martin Spicer

R‘Oil Can Rally In July we completed the third leg of a triology of big events, starting with the Highland Fling in April, Irishman was the mid point and Waitemata Branch’s R’Oil Can Rally closed out the three. Stephen and I have been attending the R’Oil Can Rally for many years and it is a must on our calendar. The format is an early start on Saturday morning to cover plenty of back roads, the more gravel and green centre lines the better, with the final destination unknown until your arrival (maybe sooner if the instructions give you any hints). Everyone overnights in the same place and breakfast is enjoyed together before everyone heads for home. The event is open to all classes, but your vehicle must be open and the hood must be down for the days motoring, regardless of the weather. This year 27 cars, including ourselves and fellow Auckland member David Adams were ready and waiting at 7:00 a.m. in Bombay. From here we set off to cover around 62 miles, arriving in Te Akau for morning tea. Once refuelled, it was off again in the direction of Raglan, with the highlight of this section being Okupata Road, just off SH 31 at Oparau. A marvellous vintage road and one we had not been on before. With another 104 miles under the belt, it was lunch at Maihihi School (just out of Otorohanga) where the pupils were waiting to show us their school and feed us very well. The third section saw us using Aotearoa Road, among other great roads until we reached our destination just before dark – the Lake Resort, on the shores of Lake Rotoiti. Thanks to Megan and Steve Cranch for an excellent weekend of motoring. 260 miles since leaving Bombay and the Talbot did not skip a beat. Home on the Sunday to wash the mud off and a little break before the next adventure. Tracey Winterbottom

The Early Years of the Motor Vehicle ABOUT THE NEW BOOK TITLED THE EARLY YEARS OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE IN AUCKLAND The First Forty Years This richly illustrated book covers the period between the first cars to arrive in Auckland through to the outbreak of the Second World War. Cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles cover the veteran, vintage and post-vintage periods. We see the arrival of the Austin Seven and the first Model A Ford. Included in the more than two hundred and fifty pages are a lot of great photos from private collections not previously published. The history of the first forty years of the motor vehicle in Auckland is told in the form of short stories, so the book can be picked up and put down at your leisure. The stories are not only about motor vehicles and early trips made in the motor car. The book also looks at regulations, taxes and roads, the petroleum industry, motorsport, early motoring publications and the Auckland Automobile Association. Registration of vehicles from 1906, the coming of warrants of fitness and the first set of traffic lights in Auckland are also covered. In thirty years, the speed limit in Parnell went from 6 mph to 30 mph and by 1927 traffic jams were a problem in central Auckland and Newmarket. A large part of the book is devoted to the people who worked in the motor industry in the first forty years and some early businesses continue in name to the present. This 250 page book sells at a great price of only $40.00 per copy. Festival Opening Sunday 16 January The Festival opening ceremony will begin at 4:30pm and conclude at 5:30pm, allowing you to return to your accommodation and prepare for the first motoring day on 17th January. There are no meals available on Sunday evening. Accommodation If you haven’t booked your accommodation yet, it would pay to be in early as registrations are rolling in, so choices may be limited. Rally Registration Sunday 16th January is registration day with the registration desk opening from 1:00pm to 4:30pm and then 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the La Mer Lounge, which is next to the TSB stadium (Festival HQ). This will be an opportunity to catch up with fellow vintage enthusiasts and relax with a coffee or cuppa tea.
