PASSEPORT-LOISIR To obtain an individual Passeportloisir, you must present yourself at the recreation department service counter in the Centre culturel G.-P.-Vanier with a piece of identification and proof of residency. To obtain a family Passeportloisir, proof of residency must be supplied for each member of the family. Au rythme de nos foulées 11th edition ! Sunday, May 10 as of 8:30 a.m. For more information or to register: ville.chateauguay.qc.ca/en/au-rythme-de-nos-foulees Contact: ardnf.info@gmail.com Organized by Les Riverains de Châteauguay running club, the Au rythme de nos foulées run, which is traditionally held on Mother’s Day, is back for the 11th year! You can participate in the 1 km, 5 km, 10 km race, or else the Michel Butts demimarathon (21.1 km), starting from the Agora. A challenge for the whole family in a lively and festive atmosphere! The mille à Gilles is back! This race is in addition to the regular run and includes an Elite section in which the first three runners will have an opportunity to win scholarships.

$ $15 per workshop $40 for three workshops Materials included The Maison LePailleur will provide children from ages 8 to 12 with three creative activities for a total of two and a half hours. In this series of workshops, children are encouraged to explore craft techniques to make original items related to fibres. Yarn, fabrics and paper will be in the spotlight!
Bien étoffé Wednesday, March 4 Children will make a cotton flag inspired by their imagination and representing their family.
Un cheval qui rock! Thursday, March 5 Participants will create a small 3D-rocking horse out of rigid cardboard with an assembly system.

SPOKEPERSON Axelle « Ebony » Munezero, a dancer who specializes in whacking, has won many urban dance battles around the world. During her career, she has worked with Arcade Fire, Corneille, the Dead Obies and Céline Dion, in addition to making television appearances on Danser pour gagner, Les dieux de la danse and, more recently, Révolution. Trained in contemporary dance at UQÀM, she was a dancer for Ebnfloh, Juxtapose and RUBBERBANDance before launching her own creation company, Asymmetry. She travels constantly to give workshops and judge dance battles around the world: Japan, Russia, South Korea, China, Australia, Paris, Los Angeles, Taiwan and Singapore.

Mémoire de femmes (A Commemoration of Women) From March 8 (International Women’s Day) to April 5 Vernissage on March 8 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. This exhibition brings together the work of more than 20 artists, both amateurs and professionals, who have looked at the history of women.
Poetry evening – Open mic Under the direction of the Plume bavarde poetry collective Friday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. As part of the Mémoire de femmes exhibition, there will be a poetry evening with a public reading of short poems related to women. Under the direction of the Plume bavarde poetry collective, participants will be able to share their words or simply enjoy those of others in the quiet atmosphere of an evening at the museum.
Coup d’œil sur le patrimoine (Heritage at a glance) From April 16 to May 31 For an eighth consecutive year, Maison LePailleur is proud to host this exhibition and contest presented by the Secondary IV students of Collège Héritage. A selection of more than 50 photographs – the museum team’s favourites – will be unveiled in order to shed light on young people’s perception of our local and regional heritage.

For the fifth consecutive year, Ville de Châteauguay, in co-operation with Maison LePailleur, will offer amateur and professional photographers the opportunity to illustrate their citizen vision through a photo contest and an outdoor exhibition. Set on the site of the historic Maison Gravel and first launched during the Journées de la culture, the exhibition will continue until November. Prizes will be awarded to four photographs that really stand out: three in the “Resident“ category and one in the “Ville de Châteauguay employee“ category. The photos may showcase the City’s history, show local people or depict breathtaking landscapes and scenes. Above all, the contest is an extraordinary forum to make your voice heard as a citizen and share your experience and point of view. Once again, it will be possible to obtain a library technician’s assistance to complete the registration form. For an appointment, call 450 698-3078.

Medium: Mixed Ten participants in the activities of Les Toits d’Émile present their works from art therapy workshops. Art has been used as a tool for communication and self-exploration. Devoid of aesthetic expectations, this project was an opportunity to express oneself, share and get to know oneself, while escaping from everyday life. The participants are therefore proud to present all of their accomplishments, which should be welcomed with kindness.
With Les âmes passagères (The Passing Souls), Isabelle Langevin proposes a journey with many faces, especially of women, through which the awareness of life that surrounds us is expressed. From the first oil canvas to her most recent acrylic on paper, we can see a gradual change in her style of painting – the touch transforming and asserting itself in favour of an increasingly personal interpretation. This faster movement, similar to a sketch, captures the moment by creating a fleeting impression.

Would you like to discover the Musée d’archéologie de Roussillon? archeoroussillon.ca Visit the library to “borrow a museum!” In collaboration with the MRC de Roussillon, the Bibliothèque Raymond-Laberge is lending two passes for a free visit of the Musée d’archéologie de Roussillon for a family of two adults and three children. The length of the loan is two weeks. The pass must be returned to the library at the end of this period. With these passes, you can see the exhibits and participate in museum activities. It is a unique opportunity to discover the region’s heritage treasures and introduce young people to archeology!
