PASSEPORT-LOISIR To obtain an individual Passeportloisir, you must present yourself at the recreation department service counter in the Centre culturel G.-P.-Vanier with a piece of identification and proof of residency. To obtain a family Passeportloisir, proof of residency must be supplied for each member of the family. Resident (valid for 2 years): $8 per person / $14 for the family (a passport is issued for each person) Non-resident: (valid for 1 year) $70 per person

ILLUMINATED GRAND PARADE Festivities and fireworks! Saturday, December 7 6:45 p.m. | Starting from Saint-Joachim Church, the parade will head toward the Bibliothèque Raymond-Laberge Magical fireworks show in front of the library after the arrival of the parade! For the fourth edition of the parade, Santa Claus and his helpers promise lively festivities with a number of animated floats, circus artists, fanfares, mascots and animated characters, in addition to the participation of several local dance schools and organizations. The celebrations start at 6 p.m. in the library parking lot and will continue until 9:30 p.m. With the special participation of the cities of Beauharnois and Mercier.

La grosse bordée
Saturday, February 15, from noon to 4 p.m. Joseph-Laberge Park Admission will be free to Joseph-Laberge park, which will be transformed into a huge playground for the occasion.
A heavy snowfall (grosse bordée) means tobogganing, winter sports and snowskating!
The Ville de Châteauguay is proud to invite you to its first new winter family event, La Grosse bordée. A winter party where families are invited to play outside! It will be a day of sports, music and gourmet food, on the banks of the beautiful Châteauguay River. You can expect lots of small rosy cheeks!

37th Châteauguay Provincial Midget Hockey Tournament January 9 to 19 Multisport Centre www.hmc.qc.ca/tournois/tournoi-midget Accompanied by their coaches, parents and friends, young hockey players from across Quebec will compete in exciting games! Ville de Châteauguay encourages residents to come out in large numbers and would like to thank the army of volunteers who make it possible to hold this event.

Come and have the perfect experience for National Hockey League (NHL) fans! For a whole weekend, you can participate in a festival full of stories and free activities for the whole family: presence of former players, musical entertainment, game areas, etc. In addition, an NHL game will be broadcast on Sunday evening from the Sportsnet mobile studio.

REGISTRATION FOR THE DAYCAMP INTEGRATION PROGRAM For more information: 450 698-3100 integration@ville.chateauguay.qc.ca Activ’Été is enthusiastically planning the 2019 Integration Program offered by the Ville de Châteauguay, which has become an unparalleled example over the years to day camps across the province. The aim of the program is to enable a child with a disability to participate in the day-to-day activities of the day camp. To do this, the child will be paired with an aide who will provide the necessary support to facilitate his or her integration into the group. Paul-Émile Dumoulin has been working for his city’s library for 25 ans. He is serious, proud, nervous and sometimes really clumsy! The shelves must be impeccable, with each book in its place. But be careful, when Paul-Émile Dumoulin begins to read passages, he fully enters into the story, and his taste for adventure shows him in a new light. He acts out the characters in the books, bringing them to life in a very expressive way, bringing together acrobatics, balancing, juggling, break dancing and playing the beat box. Medium: Mixed The solstices and equinoxes come and go with the rhythm of the seasons, inspiring many cultural celebrations. Through their emotions, artists follow the flow of the seasons. Sometimes borrowing refreshing colours, sometimes a comforting luminosity, they give rhythm to their work. A solstice is also a pause; time stops for awhile before going back in another direction. Artists takes advantage of these moments to adjust their colours, develop a new technique and discover new textures. The ice storm is an event that marked Quebec’s history by its scope and also by the resulting solidarity. This travelling exhibition targets, on the one hand, people who have experienced the ice storm and, on the other hand, visitors who are curious about discovering the crisis, not only as a weather phenomenon, but also as an event that strengthened relationships among neighbours and that sparked the ingenuity of hydro workers and the public.

EMPRUNTEZ UN MUSÉE ! Would you like to discover the Musée d’archéologie de Roussillon? www.archeoroussillon.ca Visit the library to “borrow a museum!” In collaboration with the MRC de Roussillon, the Bibliothèque Raymond-Laberge is lending two passes for a free visit of the Musée d’archéologie de Roussillon for a family of two adults and three children. The length of the loan is two weeks. The pass must be returned to the library at the end of this period.
