The Horizon Community Association of Châteauguay, with the support of Ville de Châteauguay, invites the entire population to its Jerk Festival. Enjoy a variety of traditional Caribbean meals on site: jerk chicken, jerk pork, jerk lobster and more. Performances by local artists and DJs for the enjoyment of all. The largest family gathering in the region!
In addition to this unique gathering organized in collaboration with the A&W restaurant and Dairy Queen in Châteauguay, the public will be able to participate in many activities. – Many fairground games – Mini-golf

youth programs summer reading club Feed your passions! From June 16 to August 20 Free 0 to 14 years old This summer, young people are invited to find, explore and share their passions! Through reading and fun activities, children registered for the Club will discover fascinating worlds, have new adventures and learn that passions can be contagious! A compelling summer is in store for them! To sign up, young people only have to go to the library or the “Bibliobus” (Bookmobile) where they will be given a startup kit including a logbook in which they can record the books they read during the summer.

Situated in the Espace Gravel next to the Maison LePailleur, the exhibition will be first presented during the Journées de la Culture and will continue until the end of November. Prizes will be awarded to four outstanding photographers: three in the “Resident” category and one in the “Ville de Châteauguay Employee” category. The proposed themes are : Witness to the past / People from here / Reflection

Exhibition J’épie… le maïs All summer until September 30. Free admission 1000 years ago, the aboriginals living along the Châteauguay River adopted corn. But how did this plant that is native to Central America make its way here? Brass Quintet and Circus! Musicians exploding onto the stage to play the soundtrack that will accompany the prowess of the circus artists. A juggler, a magician, a tightrope walker, a sword swallower, a lion tamer and a human-canon will put on an amazing show! Theatrical twist: the artists have deserted the circus, leaving the musicians to meet their fate. To not disappoint the public, they will take on different roles, resulting in crazy numbers… Place au Cirque!
Take advantage of the summer season to visit the museum and enjoy tea on the terrace ! Maison LePailleur was built in 1792 and its first public function was as the general store of the village. The permanent exhibition will allow you to discover the richness of the building, in addition to giving you the opportunity to delve into the daily lives of people who lived in the Lower Canada era. Accessible from spring to autumn, you will be able to have some herbal tea with scented flavors on the terrace at the end of your visit!

Starting Monday, July 2, children enrolled in the Activ’Été day camp will be riding their bikes through the streets of Châteauguay in the morning and evening. The peak times to watch are from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Some trips may take place at any other time of day due to the camp’s many activities and outings. Nature activities A hub of many activities, Pavillon de l`Île offers tourist information services, a coffee shop, washrooms with baby changing tables, a reading corner and a large terrace. Everyone is welcome from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. Check out the 2018 Île Saint-Bernard Tourist Guide. Available in most municipal buildings.
Peace and well-being on the knoll The knoll of île Saint-Bernard is a free municipal park, ideal for family walks and picnics. Adirondack chairs, swings and picnic tables are available to passersby. There are several historical buildings, an organic orchard and a breathtaking view!
Hiking in the wildlife refuge From Monday, June 4 to Sunday, September 30 Open every day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. $ The access fee is payable at the Pavillon de l’Île during opening hours. Outside this time slot, access to the Wildlife Refuge trails is free. The trails are accessible from sunrise to sunset. Hiking in the Marguerite-D’Youville Wildlife Refuge which has 8 kilometers of trails crossing a variety of ecosystems allows you to observe the fauna and flora like nowhere else!

Châteauguay-Lachine water shuttle ville.chateauguay.qc.ca The river shuttle connects the towns of Châteauguay and Lachine. Pedestrians and cyclists can move from one shore to another without worry! Schedule and pricing!

Departures: 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (Saturday only). Several departures daily. Reservations are recommended. Educational gardens of the island Open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Discover the educational gardens bordering Pavillon de l’île: a large kitchen garden used for the production of the Café de l’île, a corner for pollinating plants and another for useful plants, such as medicinal and edible plants. Through these structured and evolving spaces, urban agriculture is the main focus. Gardeners-educators offer various tips on how to grow your own food in an ecological and responsible way!
Group packages In addition to various group packages offered to associations, seniors groups and residences for independent residents, a team-building experience is now offered to employee groups called Odyssée île Saint-Bernard. Dates are still available. Custom and customized packages.
