On Monday, October 17, 2022, the Guidance Department sponsored a College Night, for all interested 9-12th grade students and parents to learn more about the college application process. The panelists for the evening were Kia Anderson, Assistant Director of Recruitment and Outreach at Rutgers University, Michael Gaynor, Executive Director at Villanova University, and Trevor O’Brien, Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Sacred Heart University. Thank you very much to all who attended. On October 12th, students in grades 11 and 12 were offered the opportunity to take SAT School Day Testing. College Board has indicated that these scores should be available by November 3rd. Students should be able to access their scores via their College Board account. On October 18th, students in grades 11 and 12 were offered the opportunity to take ACT School Day Testing. ACT has indicated that scores will be available in two to eight weeks following the test. Students who have created their MyACT account should be able to access their scores digitally earlier than the paper copy sent to the school. SENIORS • Please be mindful of your application deadlines and make sure you have submitted the appropriate paperwork. • Students are reminded to update their Naviance accounts with all college information (deadlines, admission decisions etc.).

OCTOBER 2022 • e free application of federal student aid (FAFSA) is available to submit starting October 1, 2022. Please view the following website for information: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/ about/announcements/fafsa-changes • Certain colleges require a student/parent to submit the College Scholarship Service (CSS) pro le. Please check each individual school that you are applying to. • Please remember should you opt to send standardized test scores, you will need to send your scores directly to the schools you are applying to. SAT SCORES- www.collegeboard.org or 866-756-7346 ACT SCORES- www.act.org or 319-337-1313 • Scholarships opportunities will continue to be listed and updated on the Guidance website for any students interested in applying for outside scholarships. UNDERCLASS STUDENTS • Any student interested in taking the SAT or ACT Tests this year, please be aware of registration deadlines. • On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, students in grade 10 and 11 took the National PSAT exam. Scores are anticipated to be returned in December. Students will receive an email from their College Board Account when they are able to check their scores online. • All students and parents of the Class of 2025 should have received an auto registration noti cation from Naviance by Power School. Please check your junk/spam folder if you did not receive an email. Contact the guidance office if you have any difficulty signing up/in.
