GUIDANCE REMINDERS

VILLA SERVES

e College Board released PSAT scores earlier this month. Students can access their scores by logging into their College Board accounts. Juniors have been having individual meetings to discuss their results and college planning.

Food Drive Under the leadership of Emma Naughton’26 and Jane Guarnieri’26, Villa Walsh students from 7th to 12th grade competed against each other to bring in needed food items for our anksgiving food drive. Cans of fruit and vegetables were in competition with bags of rice and beans, muffin mix and breakfast cereal. All grades and faculty performed generously and over 60 bags of pantry products were collected and bagged. e winner of the grade competition was our fabulous and generous freshmen! e Parish of St. Agnes in Paterson picked up the donations as our students helped to load the truck. Many thanks to the Villa families who helped to make this a success.

Please be aware of upcoming test dates and registration deadlines. Students in ninth and tenth grade will start to meet with Mrs. Devins aer the start of the New Year. Please call the Guidance Office with any questions. Parents/Guardians: if your daughter is planning on taking any upcoming standardized tests, including AP exams in May, and requires accommodations, please check with the guidance office to ensure all of her paperwork is up to date. COLLEGE CORNER e Class of 2025 is encouraged to notify Guidance with college decisions. While we know the waiting part of hearing back from colleges can be challenging, we ask for you to keep the faith.  Students should also update the Guidance Office with any scholarship awards.  All transcript request forms for January 1st deadlines were due December 9, 2024.  If your daughter has not signed off on her diploma name and/or been measured for her cap and gown, she should stop in the Guidance Office as soon as possible. Research scholarships! Some national sources include: www. fastweb.com and www.collegeboard.org. ere is also scholarship information on the Guidance webpage and individual college websites.

PEER TUTORING Peer tutoring remains available for all students who feel they could bene t from some additional help with a class. e sign up for requesting and providing peer tutoring can be found on the door of the Guidance Office. Please stop in or email Mrs. Devins if you have any questions.

Coats Sandwiched between anksgiving and Christmas, Anne Rionda’27, organized a children’s coat drive for the families at St. Margaret’s of Scotland in Morristown. In addition to a bake sale from which Anne used the funds to purchase jackets, the collection brought in over 80 coats and jackets for kids and their families. Toys One of our Villa Serves elves, Juliana Kenworthy’28, was busy organizing all the other elves this holiday season to bring in toys for some needy local families. Donations of stuffed animals, toys, arts and cra supplies were sorted and distributed by Mary’s Hands at St Margaret’s Church. e generosity of the Villa Walsh students, teachers and their families allows us to continue our mission to serve locally and globally. Operation Smile For some fall fun, and to raise funds for Operation Smile this year, Marie Mangier’26 and Jane Anderson'26, organized the Villa Walsh juniors and seniors, who went head-to-head in their yearly game of Powderpuff Football. In addition to the game, baked goods, cocoa, and t-shirts were sold in an effort to raise funds for Operation Smile surgeries.
