MASTER OF ACCOUNTING WITH DATA ANALYTICS PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Master of Accounting with Data Analytics (MAC) is a highly specialized program that integrates data analytics with other essential skills—valuation, risk, tax, fraud, and qualitative skills—to prepare students to become multi-dimensional accountants. The program equips students pursuing audit, corporate accounting, finance and consulting careers with the most current skills desired by employers. The Villanova MAC is also a STEM-designated program.

CURRICULUM The MAC program enhances undergraduate accounting and non-accounting business backgrounds by providing coursework in complementary areas including finance, big data, ethics, and advanced writing and e-business. Courses cover a wide variety of relevant, career-advancing topics including: • Financial market issues, such as derivative financial instruments and corporate restructuring
• Strategic planning and cost measurement
• The pervasive impact of taxation on business operations and planning
• The impact of e-business on the business value chain
• Performance evaluation
The MAC curriculum also incorporates experiential learning opportunities for students to learn and work with current technology and business applications such as Alteryx, Power BI and SQL.
