TOP THINGS TO SEE & DO LA MONEDA PALACE: This ornate neoclassical building was originally the official mint. Today, it houses Chile’s presidential offices. While the inner courtyards are generally open to the public, a guided tour is recommended. PLAZA DE ARMAS: The main square and centrepiece of Santiago. In the middle, you will find a fountain celebrating Simón Bolívar shaded by palm trees. Surrounding the square are many historic buildings, including the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Central Post Office. HEAD UP TO THE SKY COSTANERA: A glass-walled observation deck on the 62nd floor of the tallest building in Latin America, the Gran Torre Santiago. Enjoy panoramic views of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. THE BAHÁ’Í TEMPLE: This circular temple is composed of nine arched ”sails” made from marble and cast glass, designed by award-winning Canadian architect Siamak Hariri. Here, you will also find native gardens and picnic tables overlooking the city. MUSEO RALLI: Discover this museum’s stunning collection of contemporary Latin American art mixed in with familiar European masterpieces. Don’t miss the surrealist works by Salvador Dalí on the top floor.
