RECENT APPOINTMENTS It is clear that statutory tribunals are taking a role of increasing importance in community affairs. Recently tribunals have been established as part of ' statutory machinery regulating new areas of legislation, in environmental protection and compensation for victims of criminal violence. It is gratifying to see the appointment of experienced members of the Bar to these bodies, Opas, Q.C., as Chairman of the Environment Protection Appeal Board and Scurry as the Crimes Compensation Tribunal. Congratulations and best wishes are tendered to both.
