This is a Master’s Thesis from the Landscape Architecture program at the University of Copenhagen. The intention of the thesis is to demonstrate an alternative future for how the coastal setting of Halsnæs’ peninsula can be developed with a focus on cultural heritage as the driving development force.
First, the thesis presents a theoretical introduction to the concept of cultural heritage and how it relates to the field of landscape architecture. Furthermore, it investigates the context of Halsnæs and works on identifying the potentials, qualities, and challenges of
the four coastal towns: Kikhavn, Hundested, Lynæs, and Sølager through different studies and analysis.
