DESTINATIONS This summer, our clients are travelling with a noticeably different set of priorities. The familiar pillars of the European season remain firmly in place the Côte d’Azur, the Balearics and the Greek islands continue to draw those seeking time away - but the way they are being experienced is evolving. Privacy, space and a sense of discovery now outweigh visibility. Rather than defaulting to the most recognisable addresses, many are opting for quieter estates, design-led retreats and wellness-focused stays that feel more grounded and unique. According to recent industry research, 76% of luxury travellers are now actively choosing cooler climates. At the same time, 45% say they have changed travel plans in response to climate concerns and overtourism. What remains consistent is the expectation of seamlessness. The modern itinerary is engineered to feel effortless at every stage, from the aircraft and airport experience through to the final transfer on arrival.
1. VALLDAL, NORWAY How to get there: Ålesund Airport Where to Stay: Juvet Landscape Ground transfer: 2 hour As “coolcation” travel accelerates across the world, Juvet Landscape Hotel has become one of the defining properties of the movement. Hidden within western Norway’s forests and fjords, the hotel pioneered a new kind of Scandinavian luxury centred around architecture, silence and environmental immersion rather than traditional opulence. Its cinematic landscape has also made it a favourite of filmmakers, serving as a location for both Succession and Ex Machina, which only reinforced its cult status among design-conscious travellers.
AIRCRAFT Aircraft selection is becoming more deliberate, shaped less by habit and more by individual requirements. A short hop with a beloved pet to the Balearics might call for a quiet flat floor cabin where a dog can settle comfortably at your feet, while a longer sector might require a divan layout, high-speed WiFi and space for children to stay occupied en route. We are seeing consistent upgrades from light jets into the super light category, particularly for aircraft such as the Pilatus PC-24 and Embraer Phenom 300, as clients look for greater range, comfort and flexibility without unnecessary scale. Alongside this, newer and more fuel-efficient models are gaining traction, reflecting a preference for efficiency alongside performance. What defines the shift is not a single aircraft type, but a reluctance to be constrained by one.
