Career Studies Certificate
Interested in pursuing a career as an electrical technician? This program is the first part in a pathway to the Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Technology. The Advanced Practical Electrical Technician CSC is the second part of the pathway and can be completed following this program. This program aids in preparing students that are eligible to sit for the NEC Journeyman’s license.

G3 Eligible This program is G3 eligible. G3 Scholarships cover tuition and fees for Virginia residents of modest income who are pursuing high demand careers.
Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll save $10K to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.
With 20+ years of experience as well as an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology and Siemens Certifications in Mechatronics instruction, Donnie Melvin is well versed in commercial and industrial maintenance and brings extensive practical, real-world experience to the classroom.
