Congratulations to Amanda Perkins (CHS) who was nominated to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston this past summer. Amanda says the experience was 3 days of jam-packed fun, with speakers who had won awards from all over the world! She earned an Award of Excellence for continued outstanding academic performance, leadership potential, & dedication to serving humanity. Wow! Way to go Amanda!
Abby Gonzalez (CHS) recently completed her SCORE job shadowing in the Smyth County Circuit Court with Clerk of the Court John Graham. She saw Clerk Graham also moderate a forum on the Emory & Henry Health Sciences Campus. During her day, she was also able to observe Drug Recovery Court and Traffic Court.
Alison Burcham (PHHS), dressed as Alice in Wonderland, recently participated in the Halloween hike to the Channels with Mr. Hoffman (PHHS) and Mr Ahn (HHS). It looks like a very fun day for both schools!
CHS theater students recently won 1st place at regionals with their play “Booby Trap.” UB students Melanie Chontal (who won 3rd place for Best Actor), Abby Gonzalez, and Allyson Gutierrez were actors in the play. They will perform in Super Regionals on Nov. 18 at Eastside High School. Congrats to all!!
