Joining Showplace with well over two decades of industry-specific experience, Tom began as the organization’s Director of Dealer Sales in 2007. In June 2013, Tom was promoted to Director of National Sales. He continues in this leadership role today.
Aside from work, Tom doesn’t lack hobbies. He enjoys fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and boating, basically all outdoor activities at the cabin. He also enjoys woodworking and building Adirondack Chairs for family and friends, with two shops, one at home and one at the cabin. Bill attended South Dakota State University (SDSU) studying Commercial Economics and Political Science. In 2002, Bill began as Materials Manager at Showplace and worked in that role for 11 years before being promoted to Director of Manufacturing in April 2014. As a 13-year cabinet industry professional, Bill was recently promoted to Vice President. Bill currently serves on the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) board of directors, a non-profit national trade association whose 300+ members are made up of North American cabinet manufacturers and suppliers. Bill and wife Sheri with son Will and daughter Katelyn live in Harrisburg where he is an active community member and Junior Achievement board of directors volunteer. To the Harrisburg community, Tom and Bill are homegrown locals. To the Showplace community of employee- owners, Tom and Bill are veteran leaders and industry professionals.

All out of school dates and HHS sophomores must pay $20 at the door the night of prom. We will be at registration if parents wish to pay that night in August. There will be no fundraising done by the junior class. This money covers the expense of prom and senior year for the class of 2018. No refunds will be provided for not attending the prom.
Capturing The Moment SLADER NIEWENHUIS Jon Klemme, a father of three in Harrisburg School District, photographs numerous school events. Everyone sees and appreciates Jon taking pictures. When I interviewed Jon Klemme, he told me some really cool information about what he does and the objects that he takes pictures of. I asked him how he started to like taking pictures. He said, “I got the bug from my dad, Jerry, who was always taking pictures of various items. He would let me snap a few. That was back in the day of film cameras, and occasionally he would develop his own film. I recall one time he set up flash trigger to capture a bullet in flight.” Also, I asked him what he started taking pictures of at first. He said, “Mostly family events...as my boys were growing up, trying to capture those special moments. As they started participating in sports, I would bring my camera to the events.” Jon still takes pictures of all the events that go on during the school year. Jon explained, “It is very much a hobby at this point in my life. I call it my stress reliever.” The last question I asked him in the interview was if he took pictures for a living or for fun. “I take pictures for fun. It energizes me. Seeing the reaction of both adults and kids when you were able to capture a photo of just the right moment is very satisfying.” He is a very good photographer and always is very nice to people at the events too. HOSA Happenings HANNAH ABBOTT — REPORTER With school starting, the Harrisburg HOSA chapter is preparing to start another year full of competitive events, Science Saturdays, and more. Our new advisors, Mrs. Cardillo and Ms. Brink, and the Harrisburg HOSA chapter officers have been busy with welcoming new students to HOSA and catching up with returning members. Now that school has started and our monthly meetings are resuming, it’s time to start looking at the competitive events that are available to compete with at state. Some of the events include Clinical Specialty, Creative Problem Solving, Forensic Medicine, and Clinical Nursing. A few things to look forward to and reflect on in September include the first monthly meeting of the year which took place on September 12th and included a New Member Orientation and the Science Saturday that takes place September 24th. Don’t forget to sign up your 3rd-5th grade student!
Annual FFA Chili Feed Moves To Homecoming! TODD MARKS, FFA ADVISOR The Harrisburg FFA and the Harrisburg Community Fire Department will by holding a Chili and Hot Dog Feed prior to the Homecoming football game on Sept. 30, 2016. Price is $5 for all you can eat chili, hot dogs, chips, and bars. The event will be located inside the main gate to Tiger Stadium with serving from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Proceeds will be used to help cover expenses of the FFA teams competing at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis in October.
