James “Jim” Johnston

James “Jim” Johnston passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 2, 2024, in Vermilion, Alberta at the age of 82 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years Rosemarie; children Greg (Sara) and Garry (Patti); grandchildren Natalie (Connor), Blake, Caitlin, Mark, Grace and Will; great granddaughter Grey; as well as his siblings and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James & Elizabeth. The family of Jim Johnston would like to thank all our friends and relatives for their support, phone calls, messages, visits, food, and flowers; Reverend Anne McGrath for the meaningful service which would have made Jim smile; Colleen Hozack for the terrific meal; Vermilion Elks members who helped with setup and cleanup; Monique Palkun for the poem reading during the service; the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Grey Nuns Unit 42 for their care and compassion following Jim’s surgery and the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Vermilion Health Centre for their care and compassion during his visits and stays over the past three years. A special thank you to Crystal Arnold; and to Jim Storch and the staff at Reflections for their support, guidance, and kindness. The funeral service took place Friday, January 5, 2024.
