The hospital has a busy OPD and wards. It also has five outreach centres. With the steady growth in the number of people suffering from substance abuse and HIV the hospital leadership responded to this surging need and opened services to address these issues. These services are fully used by the community around. It is also one of the Barrier-Free hospitals in the state. The Nursing School continues to grow steadily, with an intake of 30 students
every year and has laid a good standard of nursing service. Most of the Nursing School tutors have had some roots here at CMC.
Electronic Engineering:
It was so encouraging to hear that the Church and individuals have all along stood with this hospital recognizing this as the healing arm of the church. The Medical Superintendent Dr. Singson tells that the chapel within the hospital is being renovated and made spacious as one family contributed Rs. Fifty eight lakh towards it. This expresses the way the church is supporting the hospital and working very closely and it is an example for others. It is not just the monetary support but community enrichment and advisory support of the Church that is helping the hospital to thrive.

he Synod Hospital at Durtlang is one of the two hospitals within the CMC Missions network in Mizoram. This was originally known as Presbyterian Hospital that was founded in 1928. At present the hospital has 350 beds with 36 doctors and 205 nursing staff.

The hospital also works with various NGOs and the Government of Mizoram to deliver health-care services. It is quite encouraging to see that the healthy collaboration with the Church and other teams have enabled the hospital to be more effective in addressing the health issues in this region and to be a witness for God’s healing ministry.
Urology Masterclass The Department of Urology conducted the sixth annual master class for postgraduates on 26th and 27th of June at the exam hall in Bagayam campus. There were a total of 135 final year postgraduates from all over the country. Eleven faculty from various premier centres participated in this extremely popular and highly regarded teaching programme. Intramural faculty from other departments enriched the programme with their input.
Aunt Ida & College Hill Scholarships (2017-2018) Applications are invited from CMC Class IV staff whose children are studying standard I to XII. Family income - Gross (Husband / Wife together) should not exceed Rs. 20,000 /- per month. Only one application will be accepted from each family. The application forms are available in the Chaplaincy Office from June 01, 2017. Last date to submit the filled in application form is June 30, 2017.
Annual Leave Encashment Notice for General Superintendant Appointees All staff members under the General Superintendant who would like to surrender their annual leave for encashment purposes are requested to feed the number of days they wish to surrender in the leave management programme with the approval of the Head of the Department to the Personnel Manager, before June 30, 2017. MBA in Hospital & Health Systems Management is a four-semester programme conducted as a collaboration between Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore and Bombay Hospital, Mumbai. BITS. Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education and operates several other collaborative programmes with many industries across the country directed towards their HRD needs. Eligibility: Employed professionals in the healthcare industry, holding an Integrated First Degree of BITS Pilani or its equivalent/MBBS or its equivalent, with at least one year of relevant work experience. Professionals having a 3 year undergraduate degree along with postgraduate qualifications in medical, alternative medical, paramedical, healthcare management, and allied fields may also apply with sponsorship from employers. Retirements Mr. M. Subramani, Hospital Housekeeping Attendant Gr.I, Ophthalmology Department retired from the service of the institution on the 8th of May, 2017 after 35 years of service in this Institution. He has two daughters and his son, late Mr.Sathish worked in CMC under Personnel Department (Relief Pool). Mr. S. Thirugnanakumar, Sr. Gr.I Clerk Typist, Nephrology Department retired on 12th May, 2017, after 35 years of service in this Institution. His Wife, Mrs. Regina Kumar (C.O.N. Graduate) was a Staff Nurse in C.M.C. for 12 years. They have two daughters, Dr. Angel Miraclin Jebakumari is a Assistant Professor in Medicine Unit-III and Ms. Annie Elizabeth who is working as a Staff Nurse in U.K. CMC community is thankful for their years of commitment to the institution and wishes them a peaceful retirement.
