During the Senior Training Fellowship, she worked on Molecular diagnosis at the Institute of Medical biology and Human Genetics, University of Innsbruck, Austria. Her involvement in the laboratory work and management was highly commendable. Routine laboratory work was always her priority. She was always punctual and worked late hours when there is a breakdown of equipment or system. Her knowledge on mechanical and technical processes and laboratory equipment was so good that she could help with the troubleshooting of devices. Her dream was to expand the neonatal screening program, so that more children could be benefited.
She had been to England for a year where she learned the HPLC for drug analysis. Dr. Victoria completed PhD under the guide ship of Dr.A.S.Kanagasabapathy. r. Victoria Job served the institution for 36 years and retired on the 21st of June 2017. She joined CMC in 1981 after completing her post-graduation in Medical Biochemistry from CMC. She began her career when most of the diagnostic assays were done manually. She is one among the few who had the opportunity to witness the transition and rapid development of the diagnostic field. Her knowledge in the subject is vast and she has keen interest in the diagnostic field. Every new addition to the Department, equipment or assays kindled her interest further.

She collaborated with many clinical departments and widened the area for research. Technical staff were encouraged to do clinical audits within the department and presented posters in the National Conferences. Her encouragement and support was crucial in boosting the morale of the new members of the department. She gave much focus on staff development and wrote modules for staff training and also introduced competency assessment for all staff. She was much involved with the laboratory accreditation as well as the accreditation of the External Quality Assurance Scheme. She has taken audit training for ISO 15189 i.e for the testing laboratories and ISO 17034 for Reference Material Preparation. She has been a speaker and chaired sessions in many national and international conferences and published many papers. Apart from her pivotal role in the Department she has also contributed towards social welfare projects, while she was a member of the Rotary Inner Wheel Club, Vellore. Working with her was a pleasure because of her pleasing mannerisms, friendly personality and caring nature. Her husband Dr.Anand Job retired as head of Department of ENT, CMC. Their son Jonathan a software professional is in the US with his wife Vivitha, daughter Dr.Anjana is an ENT specialist at the Scudder Memorial Hospital, Ranipet and son–in-law Dr. Latif Rajesh is working in the department of Forensic Medicine, CMC. The Jobs are blessed with a grandson. The Department of Clinical Biochemistry is indebted to her for providing an excellent atmosphere at work place. As she moves to the next phase of her life, we thank Dr. Victoria Job for her contributions and wish her the very best for the future.
CME on 'The role of Biochemistry in Reproductive Medicine'
Dr.Geethanjali welcomed the gathering for the CME and Dr.T.K.Aleyamma and Mrs. Anne Margret from the department of Reproductive Medicine spoke on the biochemical evaluation of IVF and biochemical pregnancy. Dr.Vivek Krishnan, an invitee from the Amirtha Institute of Medical Science, Kochi shared his knowledge on the Down’s Screening and Mrs.Vanitha, Clinical Biochemistry spoke on the Anti Mullerian hormone. Dr. Pamela Christudoss proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the meeting. It was an opportunity for the Clinical Biochemistry Department to host a CME and to honour Dr.Victoria Job.

The Department of Clinical Biochemistry conducted a CME on ‘The role of Biochemistry in Reproductive Medicine’ on the 17th of June 2017 in honour of Dr.Victoria Job, Professor and Head of the Department on her superannuation. The CME was conducted in the C.K.Job Hall at the Paul Brand Building and around 200 delegates from in and around Vellore and Chennai participated. Many retired staff including the former Head of the Department Dr. A.S. Kanagasabapathy was there to grace the occasion. Associate Director Dr.Anil Kuruvilla, Medical Superintendent Dr. C.E. Eapen, Principal Dr. Anna B. Pulimood, Dr. Sukesh Nair from the Transfusion Medicine and Dr.Geethanjali from Clinical Biochemistry felicitated Dr.Victoria Job.

XXVII Tamilnadu State Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) Conference XXVII Tamilnadu State Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) Conference was held at Sardar Rajas College of Nursing, Kavalkinaru, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu from 15th – 17th June 2017. 2000 students from 51 Colleges had participated from all over the State. From College of Nursing, CMC, 80 students participated in 31 different events. The Overall Championship was won by College of Nursing, CMC and stood first in the State of Tamil Nadu. Memoranda Dr. Nylla Shanthly, Physician, is appointed as Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine with effect from 30th May, 2017 till her superannuation. Dr. C.E. Eapen, Medical Superintendent, is appointed as Acting Head of Paediatric Surgery Unit-I with effect from 12th June, 2017 and Dr. Immanuel Sampath Karl, Professor will be In-charge of the day to day functioning of this Unit till further notice. Dr. Manasseh Nithyananth J., Professor, is appointed as Head of Orthopaedics Unit-I with effect from 14th June, 2017 during the period when Dr. Vinoo Mathew Cherian is on Sabbatical leave. Dr. Geethanjali F.S., Professor, is appointed as Head of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry with effect from 21st June, 2017 till her superannuation.
Retirements
Mrs. G. Manoranjitham, Sr. Field Worker, CHAD retired on the 1st of June 2017 after serving the Institution for 35 years. She has two sons, Mr. Meshach Paul and Mr. Dani Paul who is doing M.Sc. Nursing (Psychiatry). CMC community is thankful for their years of commitment to the institution and wishes them a peaceful retirement.

Mrs. C. Meenambal, Sr. Gr.I Clerk Typist, ‘Q’ Block retired on the 22nd of May 2017 after serving the Institution for 35 years. Her husband, Mr. Jeevanandham is a retired staff from Ambur Sugar Mill. They have a son, Mr. Madhanaraj and a daughter, Mrs. Jeevitha who is working as a Tutor in ‘J’ Ward.
