About the Special Concert Event Sponsored by the Karnataka Chapter of the CMC Alumni Group The Karnataka Chapter of the CMC Alumni Group was started in 1989 by Dr. Irwin Samuel and Dr. Alexander Thomas. It is now comprised of about 170 members (medical) who are all connected through a regularly-updated directory. The Chapter also meets twice a year. During the CMC Vellore centenary celebrations, the Karnataka Chapter raised Rs. 15 lakhs for CMC. This year, the Karnataka Chapter has tied up with the renowned Glorious choir in Bangalore. Glorious is a 70-member gospel youth group, set up by Esther and Reji Chandy in 1989. They have presented more than 1000 concerts over the last 25 years, touching many hearts with their message of love, hope and unity. Their annual Winter Christmas Concert is a two-day program that music-lovers look forward to for the entire year. They have raised money for various good causes in the past, and this year, they will be lending their voices to support CMC Vellore. The proceeds of this concert will go towards the new fully-equipped, 1500-bedded, Rs. 800 crore facility that is being set up at CMC. Donors will get the benefit of section 80G under the IT act. The choir, Glorious, has agreed to perform concerts across India to help other chapters of the CMC Alumni Group to raise money within their states. CMC Alumni are a strong and mobilised force outside India, and we request your help in raising funds for this worthy cause.
