“Pool Shark Sam” - Showing the kids how it’s done.
In December, our team members from across the country came together for our 2025 Company Meeting centered around the theme
The Power of VCC.

The meeting gave us the opportunity to reflect on what we accomplished over the past year, align around key priorities moving forward, and spend time together as one team.

2025 Reflection

We began by looking back at the past year and the momentum we have built across the company. One message that came through clearly was the importance of execution. Our success continues to come from our ability to get the job done, work together across teams, and approach every project with urgency, accountability, and a focus on delivering results for our clients.

Our teams completed 22 projects, started 21 new projects, and currently have more than 40 active projects underway, with a strong pipeline of opportunities ahead.

Several sessions highlighted the progress we made as an organization. Over the past year, we continued to strengthen alignment across management, project teams, and support teams. By improving communication and collaboration across offices and departments, we have continued to operate more as one unified organization. This alignment has helped us move faster, make better decisions, and support our teams more effectively in the field and in the office. We also reviewed the scope of work our teams are delivering across the country. Our teams completed 22

projects, started 21 new projects, and currently have more than 40 active projects underway, with a strong pipeline of opportunities ahead. These milestones reflect the dedication of our teams and the trust our clients continue to place in us.

Financial performance was another important topic of discussion. Over the past year we experienced strong growth, increased revenue, and improved financial visibility across the organization. Our teams have continued to focus on accurate projections, disciplined financial management, and better reporting tools to help us make informed decisions as we continue to grow.

Technology + Innovation

Technology and innovation also played a major role in the conversation. Over the past year we expanded the use of tools like OpenSpace and Autodesk Construction Cloud to improve field visibility, streamline workflows, and provide better coordination across project teams. We also discussed how emerging technology and AI tools will continue to support our teams by improving efficiency and reducing friction across the entire project lifecycle.

Safety

Safety remains at the core of everything we do. Our risk management team shared updates on safety initiatives, training programs, and the importance of maintaining a strong safety mindset on every project.

Safety is not simply a requirement…it is a responsibility shared by every member of our team, and our continued commitment to it ensures that everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

Growth

The meeting also gave us the chance to celebrate the growth of our team. Over the past year we saw numerous promotions across project management, field leadership, operations, and support roles. These promotions reflect the hard work of individuals across the company and our continued investment in developing the next generation of leaders.

Establishing Priorities

Looking ahead, we discussed our focus for the coming year. Our priorities include continuing to strengthen operational discipline, improving financial performance, investing in leadership and talent development, expanding strategically into new markets and sectors, and continuing to build systems that allow us to scale as a company.

Victory Strategies + Leadership Development

A major part of Saturday’s program was led by Victory Strategies, who worked with our group on leadership development, management practices, and team building. Through interactive sessions, we explored ways to strengthen communication, improve leadership effectiveness, and continue building strong teams across the organization. Congrats again to Team CAD (Control Alt Defeat) for bringing home the win from the event.

The Year Ahead

The meeting reinforced something we all know: the strength of our company comes from our people. The Power of VCC is reflected in how we collaborate, support one another, and show up every day to deliver great work for our clients.

As we move into the year ahead, we hope everyone continues to embody the Power of VCC in the way we lead, communicate, and execute on our projects every day.

2026 Awarded Projects: First Quarter

In Q1 2026, a total of $78.9 million in projects were awarded, reflecting strong momentum across multiple sectors and geographies.

In a Nutshell

The portfolio is anchored by several large-scale developments, including the Haggard Farm Sitework Package in Plano, TX ($38M), Lulah Hills in Atlanta, GA ($23M), and Lafayette Crossing in Fate, TX ($17.5M), demonstrating continued growth in major mixed-use and retail-driven projects.

In addition to these flagship developments, several smaller hospitality-focused projects were secured, highlighting long-standing relationships with partners like JLL while establishing new ones with Foro Inc. While smaller in value, these projects contribute to a diversified pipeline and reinforce a steady presence in the hospitality segment.

From a sector standpoint, Restaurant/ Retail leads the portfolio at 48%, followed by Retail (22%) and Grocery/Retail (18%), underscoring a strong emphasis on consumer-driven developments. Mixed-use projects account for 11%, while Hospitality represents 1%, reflecting a more targeted but consistent presence in that sector.

Overall, the awarded work positions the pipeline with a healthy mix of largescale developments and strategic smaller engagements, supporting both immediate revenue and long-term growth opportunities.

Haggard Farm | Plano, Texas

Farm, a key retail and gathering mixed-use development in Plano, Texas. The portion of the project we are partnering on includes 116,500 square feet of new construction across eight retail buildings, creating a destination for dining, retail, and community activity within the broader development.

Our scope includes inline retail spaces, restaurant venues, and a specialized Almanac area that will feature a food hall and gathering facilities designed to serve as a central hub for visitors and events. The development also includes construction of The Almanac Restaurant and the Haggard Hall Event Center, both intended to anchor the site’s hospitality and entertainment offerings.

The project features structural steel construction and includes approximately 400 parking spaces to support the retail and event uses. As part of the larger Haggard Farm vision, Haggard Hall event center will play an important role in activating the site and creating a vibrant environment for the surrounding community.

Expected completion is July 2027.

BEHIND THE BUILD

featuringRobert Antunez

>> Each quarter, we shine a spotlight on one of our team members to celebrate the people who make VCC what it is. Through a series of thoughtful questions, we get to know their background, what inspired them to pursue a career in construction, and the path that led them to their current role. This feature offers a personal look at the individuals behind our projects. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and recognize the talent and dedication across our team.

“Personally, I appreciate a team member’s willingness to both teach and learn. No one is born knowing everything, so the sharing and passing of knowledge is very valuable in my eyes.”

Can you share a bit about your background and how you found your way into the construction industry and to work at VCC?

As a kid, I always had an interest in seeing how things come together, the ins and outs and the small intricacies that go into constructing things. Even in high school, I used to hang out with my friends in our parents’ front yards working on project cars together. I didn’t realize it at the time, but my path into construction really started with the purchase of my first house. I became obsessed with the how-to’s and why’s of construction, and the following year I was on the CM path in college. After several years of building in the surrounding Gainesville area, my family and I decided we’d like to travel. That’s when I came across VCC and had the opportunity to join a great team.

The rest is history.

What

led you to become a Superintendent?

My first internship was in the field assisting the superintendent. He taught me a lot about the relationships you can build out there and what it takes to be a super.

As a former retail manager, it also intrigued me knowing I could carry over some of those people and leadership skills to help direct a project.

What aspects of your job as a Project Engineer do you find the most fulfilling or challenging?

Seeing drawings go from 2D to 3D and knowing my contributions helped build a habitable space.

As someone that has worked on different jobsites with many individuals and teams, what qualities do you appreciate most in your colleagues and team members?

Personally, I appreciate a team member’s willingness to both teach and learn. No one is born knowing everything, so the sharing and passing of knowledge is very valuable in my eyes.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully on a several-acre property, watching my kids chase around the farm animals.

What was something that stood out at the company meeting? Was your fiance able to attend and what was her takeaways?

The ability to connect with people from all corners of the company. Everyone, no matter their title, was incredibly approachable and welcoming. My better half accompanied me and had the chance to meet some great people from around the country, and even a mentor. Overall, it was a great experience.
