Abstract - The project “Smart Goggles with Voice

Smart Goggles with Voice Assistant and Beep Alert is an innovative wearable assistive system designed to help visually impaired people navigate safely and independently. The system uses sensors to detect obstacles in real time and provides alerts through beep sounds and voice messages. The project integrates Arduino / Espressif Systems microcontroller, ultrasonic sensors, buzzer, and voice module with IoT connectivity to create a smart wearable device. When an obstacle is detected, the goggles alert the user through: Beep sound (warning indication) Voice message (“Obstacle ahead”) IoT notification (optional mobile alert) This system improves mobility, safety, and independence for users.

Assistant and Beep Alert using IoT” is designed to develop an intelligent wearable device that helps users through voice interaction and obstacle detection technology. The main aim of this project is to provide safety, smart assistance, and easy communication using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. These smart goggles are especially useful for visually impaired people and for individuals who require hands-free assistance while walking or traveling. The system consists of components such as a microcontroller, ultrasonic sensor, buzzer, microphone, speaker, and voice assistant module. The ultrasonic sensor detects nearby obstacles and sends signals to the controller. When an object is detected within a certain distance, the buzzer produces a beep alert to warn the user and prevent accidents. The integrated voice assistant helps the user perform basic tasks through voice commands, such as getting information, controlling functions, or receiving notifications. The IoT feature enables smart connectivity and realtime communication between the device and other systems. The goggles are portable, lightweight, userfriendly, and power efficient. This project combines embedded systems, sensors, and IoT concepts to create a smart wearable solution that improves safety, accessibility, and convenience in daily life.

2. LITERATURE SURVEY [The development of smart wearable devices has increased rapidly with the growth of IoT and embedded system technologies. Many researchers have focused on designing assistive systems for safety, navigation, and communication. Smart goggles are one of the emerging wearable technologies that provide intelligent support through sensors, voice assistance, and alert mechanisms. Previous research on obstacle detection systems mainly used ultrasonic sensors and infrared sensors to help visually impaired people identify nearby objects. These systems generate vibration or sound alerts when obstacles are detected, improving user safety during movement. Researchers found that ultrasonic sensors provide accurate distance measurement and are cost-effective for wearable applications.
