VAREP AT A GLANCE Overview Founded in 2011, the USA Homeownership Foundation, Inc. dba the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) is a nonprofit Veterans Service Organization (501c3 & 501c19) with a mission to provide financial stability, housing security, sustainable homeownership, economic opportunity, and VA loan access for veterans, servicemembers, and surviving spouses. Structure & Ecosystem VAREP is incorporated in the State of California and a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. It is led by a National Board of Directors and a Leadership Team comprised of military veterans and industry professionals. National committees—including the National Legislative Committee, National Education Committee, Association Leadership Committee, National Charity Committee, and National Grievance Committee—provide strategic direction. Local chapters form the foundation of VAREP’s community impact, hosting events, resource fairs, and educational workshops, while national programs deliver direct services of support. VAREP operates within a broader ecosystem of independent nonprofits, each incorporated as a California CCorporation, holding nonprofit tax-exempt status, governed by its own Board of Directors, and filing a separate IRS Form 990. The Three Arms of Service • VAREP (501c3): Service & education — HUD counseling, financial literacy, foreclosure prevention. • VHFA (501c19): Advocacy — policy voice, grassroots action, annual Policy Conference. • VETCares (501c3): Philanthropy — grants, retreats, home & vehicle donations.
