Michael L. Dixon, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered eternal rest on May 2, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on August 28, 1973, Michael lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep love for his family, and a spirit that brought joy to those around him.
Michael was a graduate of Mt. Clemens High School, Class of 1991, where he enjoyed playing both football and basketball two of his early passions. He later attended Lawrence Technological University for a brief period. Known for his natural intelligence, Michael had a unique ability to excel without much effort something his sister Qiana often teased him about, as she had to study diligently while he seemed to breeze through.
As quiet as it was kept, Michael loved singing and possessed a rich, phenomenal bass voice that resonated deeply with those who heard him He also enjoyed playing dominoes and spending meaningful time with family and friends
Michael’s greatest joy came from being with his six grandchildren, as well as his nieces and nephew His love for them was evident in every smile, every laugh, and every moment they shared One of his favorite places on earth was Shannon, Mississippi a place he cherished for its warmth and peace, far from the cold and snow he strongly disliked.
In an act of love and dedication, Michael moved to Shannon, Mississippi, to help care for his Uncle Curtis during his illness. Michael was already facing health challenges of his own, and over time, his condition worsened. Following the passing of his uncle, Michael returned to Mt. Clemens to be with and cared for by his loving parents.
Michael was baptized at an early age and remained a member of the North Broadway Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elbert Dixon and Birdie MetcalfDixon; his maternal grandparents, Len Howard and Regina Moses-Howard; and several aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted parents, Jimmy Lee Dixon and Jewel Dixon; his loving sister, Qiana Dixon; his cherished children, Markell Dixon, Regina Dixon, Mikyla Dixon, Mackenzie Dixon, and Taryn Dixon; and his adored grandchildren, Raq’Kell Dixon, Kainan Jenkins-Dixon, Riley Prophet, Markell Dixon Jr., Araceli Dixon, and Camila Dixon. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces, Qiara Dixon and Qimya Brown and his nephew, Carter Dixon, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts
Michael’s life was one of quiet impact, steady love, and meaningful presence. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his memory will live on in every laugh, every story, and every moment shared by those who loved him
