Editor’s Note When Lauren Hill sang the ‘Miseducation of Lauren Hill’ in the ‘90s, it was an acknowledgement of a coming to self- realisation of the African American. Under, and after slavery, Africans were second class citizens, with no rights to aspire beyond underlings. It took hundreds of years to peel off that coating and break through the glass ceiling. Today, an African occupies The Seat of Power in America. Lauren sings of the potentials embedded in her, which her society had sought to quash with the cultural perception she was born into. This underling perception was once the lot of majority of Akwa Ibomites. Fifteen years ago, 80% of house helps, cooks and drivers in Nigeria came from that part of the country. Servitude was their ‘God-given’ lot or so it seemed until the revolution which put a halt to that ‘miseducation’. Today, you will hardly find an Akwa Ibom house help or cook. It took a leader with vision to begin that revolution. When Obong Victor Attah took over at Government House, Uyo, he went about transforming the people and their environment. Education became free and GCE registration fees paid for all students. Thus began the re-engineering of minds, set free to fly beyond servanthood. It was this foundation that Governor Godswill Akpabio built on to achieve the success story of the freedom of mind of Ibomites. Obong Victor Attah is my first guest in ‘The Editor’s Interview’, my personal interview cover, which, monthly, will bring lifestyle views from the top. Enjoy and have a great week! CHIBOK GIRLS: 500 days and counting.
COVER STORY
After a long debate,I have decided to go with “the car wash skirt.” Perhaps this seems like a natural choice since its wide strips of fabrics swish, sway, and slap with every move Whatever you choose to call it, be sure to give it a go this season, as the trend did not just pop up on the Dior runway, it also made a mark at Oscar de la Renta.

A red dress makes a bold fashion statement and is no doubt one of the show-stopping gowns on the red carpet today. However, incorporating bright colours, especially red, into your wardrobe is not an easy task, but if worn well, it will create a look that is both classy and seductive. For the appropriate accessories to wear with your dress, stick with simple, unobtrusive pieces that add a little interest and contrast without drawing too much attention. Keep your dress the focal point of your outfit. Here are a few tips to guide you.
Try a simple, chocolate brown pump matched with a solid brown belt. For jewelry, look for pendants and earrings that contain brown gemstones. The gemstones can be large, but only opt for one or two statement pieces. kerry washington

Opt for deep shades over bright shades Deep shades add colour without looking too flashy. Bright colours may compete with a bright red dress, resulting in a tacky look.
Use black to add a little sexiness to your outfit Black can look strong and classy, but the right black accessories can really turn up the heat. For evening carry a clutch bag with a layer of black lace. Complete the look with your highest pair of black stilettos.
Add a simple hint of glamour to your dress with solid silver or gold Metallics often have enough shine to look elegant on their own. Add shimmer to your neck or wrist with a simple chain, and look for a metallic shoe and handbag to tie your look together.

retro 60’s mini skirt
the mini skirt
rita dominic
Call it the rebellion of the 60s and you won’t be wrong. The skimpy little skirt which rocked the 60s was a departure from the long, voluminous dresses of that era. Not one for the faint hearted, the mini skirt was for the bold and daring as it was a way to show off great legs. Unfortunately, not everyone had the courage to try this out but it enjoyed a great time out in the 60s and 70s. See how Rita rocks this Sequins number.

by - Jemi Ekunkunbor It is an open secret that fashion goes and comes with old pieces being reworked and recycled. Almost every decade comes with one major fashion hit that gets recycled again after some time. Recent revelation on the catwalk shows some key 60s pieces making a come- back. Not many for example, can forget the mini skirt or the shift dress in a hurry or can you? What a fashion moment they had. Here are some pieces that really stand out some have made a come-back and is being rocked steady.

It’s been there and always will be. The floor-sweeping, ankle length dress has its appeal in its ability to fit all. Whether you are attending a new year eve party or a democracy day ball, the modern twist with sequins and touches of tribal embellishment will gain you max attention. In the 60s and 70s, the halter neck and smoked waistline was a favourite style accessorised favourably with the platform shoes. Today, the maxi is still standing tall as a great pick for an evening outing paired with sleeker platforms.

The shift dress has remained an enduring fashion icon since the 60. It was one of the trends that made the 60s a really swinging one. The shift dress has graced almost every decade and made even more memorable by the likes of Jackie Onasis. Today, the famous LBD, comes in this style a true classic that still rocks now! Ifeoma Odogwu nailed it very nicely with this pretty ankle strap shoe.
Scholl
The leather Scholl slippers was what most fashion forward mothers rocked in the 70s. It was the grooviest leg piece ever created as it was designed to fit the feet. Designed with comfort in mind, the famous Scholl slippers blended both functionality and fashion in an appealing way. It was timeless and gave effortless chic to a look whether it was traditional or contemporary.
What is the essence of The Udy Factor? The Udy Factor came about as a result of the need to inform, educate and empower Nigerians on topical issues, rights and privileges involving everyday life. Many Nigerians are not well versed with the legal repercussions and/or benefits surrounding marriage, divorce etc. This imperative birthed The Udy Factor, which is aimed at empowering one with information on issues, rights and privileges on delicate topics in our society such as sex, aging gracefully, marriage and the Law. When a couple call it quits, many at times, they don’t know that there is such a thing as alimony. And, most times, it becomes an impartial situation, not favouring one or both parties. So, the programme empowers viewers with the knowledge they need to fight back and informs them on intricate details for everyday living. Right now, we have about twenty-two episodes on ground, some of which tackle divorce as well as aging gracefully, on different parts of the body, amongst others. Who are your target audience? Everybody. We all work with information and, even if you don’t have use for it at that very moment, at some point in time, you will. And knowing it, one can share that information with some-
one who actually needs it at that point in time. The theme of the programme is to impact information; so, I hope to reach everyone. For someone who has watched the programme and needs help, how would you help the person get the needed assistance? We are in a technologically advanced era where everything goes through the social media. In this case, we are working hard to create an online presence, where viewers can contribute and share their stories as well as gain advice and help, if possible, from the experts in various fields.
What do you foresee as the future of The Udy Factor? I want to empower as many lives as possible with information; plus, we have very interesting topics which concern each person, one way or another. We look at the government and we always say the government is corrupt whereas we are actually looking at ourselves. From the housewife who collects money for foodstuff and ends up buying aso-ebi to the middleman who takes bribes for favours, corruption is in us all and I hope that, through this medium, we can empower people to know their rights so as to avert getting cheated. You sound like an activist, do you plan to venture into politics at any point in time? Oh absolutely! I plan to vie for a senatorial position in the nearest future. Under what party? In time, you will know. (laughs)

THE E DITOR’S INTER VIEW
THE EDITOR’S INTER VIEW
Obong Victor Attah - On National Ethos By - Remmy Diagbare
F
rom the Uyo Airport, you begin to see the impact of Obong Victor Attah’s eight years as Governor of Akwa Ibom. Driving out of the airport, you cannot miss the imposing hangar, built for the purpose of maintenance and repairs of aircrafts in Nigeria. All over the capital, the evidence of Obong’s legacies stare one in the face. The Le Meridien Hotel, the International Golf Course, the power plant, sea port, Uyo Airport and the ICT Park were part of a connective plan to industrialise the state. Akwa Ibom is transformed alright but is the state the dream Eldorado he had in mind? In this maiden Editor’s Interview, Obong Attah, who says he is ‘a professional in politics’ speaks on troubling issues with Nigeria and his lifestyle now. Enjoy.
Nigeria just turned 55. How would you say we have fared? I am not going to talk about the potentials so much as the promise that there was. Nigeria was a promising country even under Nigerians. It may sound like I am blaming the military but, yes, I am blaming the military; because the coup intervention was too premature. We didn’t allow democracy to really struggle and establish itself before we did what we did and we have not recovered. If only after handing over, the military had withdrawn completely from governance and allowed democracy to be re-established. But, you can see their hands through the whole thing. I really wish the military will withdraw completely and allow true democracy to take root. Unless they allow the principles of true federalism to govern us, we will continue to have issues. The former President, Goodluck Jonathan, called a national confab. Admittedly, in the opinion of a number of us, it was belated. It is something he could have done earlier. He could have had the opportunity for us to chew over the report, see which ones are implementable and which ones should be discarded. But he waited almost to the last moment; the minute he left office, people are saying ‘throw it out’. Why should we be doing that? Must we always be going one step forward, two steps backward? I think the problem is that we have not yet developed national ethos. People are still thinking of the North as different from the West, Minority, East, etc. Until we develop the concept of a nation and begin to think Nigeria, we will not make progress.

•Attah
How would you rate Nigeria in the last 100 days? The last 100 days have been difficult for people in government. It’s difficult to know where to begin because there is so much to be corrected. Personally, I don’t believe in this 100 days matter; we did not elect anybody to govern us for only 100 days. I believe it takes longer than that to firm up what you want to do. This is the first time we have somebody who came out to say ‘I want to be President’ and he was elected.
So, people will think he should have his plans and hit the ground running. But ‘running’ in which direction? He has to consolidate so that he will carry everyone along. And I don’t think that is wrong. If for nothing else, he has brought in the fear of committing crime; and that big crime is corruption. Today, people are afraid to do what is not right. For me, that is a great step forward. You were a two-time governor of Akwa Ibom State. What would you say are the legacies you are most proud of? I am not going to talk of my legacies in terms of projects, though they were many. What I did was, I moved Akwa Ibom from being a village to a place of note in Nigeria. In most instances, whenever there is national dialogue, it would not be concluded unless Akwa Ibom’s opinion was sought. And, the projects are there for anyone to see, if they want to be honest. The thing about my projects was that, they had an integral theme binding them together. People thought they were elitist but they were not. I give you an example. I built an airport. Then, when people come, they have to stay somewhere. That gave birth to the Le Meridien Hotel. There is no where you want to run an airport properly and develop industries, ICT, without power, so there was the power plant. There was also the ICT Park which, unfortunately, my successor abandoned. I knew that AK was so small, so compact and so dense in population that what we needed to do was to go industrial and ICT. These influenced the ICT Park, the power plant - which was commissioned - with 191 megawatts. I also started the University of Technology. That university was supposed to train people to meet the development needs of the state. I set up a unique structure such that the university would not be unionized. Having studied the system of salary structure in places like Botswana and some small islands in the West Indies, I agreed with the NLC, headed by Oshiomhole at the time, to pay same as is done in these
countries. They would have been so well paid that nobody would want to go on strike. Unfortunately, the blue print was not followed. It was turned into a conventional university. Then, there is the Deep Sea Port at Ibaka which was also discarded. Also, I built a maintenance hangar capable of maintaining, repairing, and overhauling any aircraft at Uyo Airport but it stands there abandoned. Beyond all the physical things I mentioned and roads, I am most proud of the change in psyche of the people. They felt like they were citizens of the country and not inferior citizens. On retirement, did you have a mega retirement package? When I left office, I retired with 1.3 million naira for six of us. This was shared between myself, my P.A., a driver, two security men and cook. That was what I was enjoying for seven years and nine months. In the last three months of Akpabio being governor, I got one mega package. And medical? I am entitled to medical. I have been lucky because all I do is go for yearly executive medical check-ups which costs about N120,000. But when my wife was sick and lost her two kidneys, she had to go through dialysis. That was expensive. Can this be sustained? To be quiet frank with you, I do not think so. How can any government sustain that when they cannot pay salaries? When you left office, how did you get back to normalcy? I qualified as an architect in 1964. I got my first post-graduate diploma in 1965 and a Masters degree in 1966. Obong Victor Attah - On National Ethos By - Remmy Diagbare

rom the Uyo Airport, you begin to see the impact of Obong Victor Attah’s eight years as Governor of Akwa Ibom.

Life has taught me that you have to open yourself up and be ready to learn new things every day
•Attah was enmeshed in the profession. So, I am a thorough professional. My profession has treated me very well. I wasn’t a poor man when I came into government. I could travel with my family; my wife and two children on first class wherever I go. When I left (office), I went back to my profession. What I find very unfortunate is the attitude of Nigerians. Having been a governor, I don’t know what they expect I should be doing. Even as I speak, I have tons of text messages of people asking for money for wedding, hospital bill... Where do they expect the money to come from? Then, there are those - when I go and apply for jobs - who would not look at you; even when you can do the job better than the foreigners they give jobs (to). Then, they will rub it in by saying, ‘Obong, are you still doing this thing?’ And, I say ‘What thing? This is my profession’. So, because I have been a governor, I should have stolen so much money that I wouldn’t need to lift a finger to work? I say to them, former President Jimmy Carter went back to his groundnut plantation. This is the only unfortunate thing Any political ambition? I was given a piece of Nigeria called Akwa Ibom to govern and I transformed it in a phenomenal way. I felt I had the ability and the vision to do that to all of Nigeria. My only other ambition was possibly to become president. And, I tried in 2007. If Obasanjo had allowed the contest to go without interference, I stood a very good chance. But, when that was scuttled, that was the end of it. I am not a political jobber. I am a professional in politics. I studied Development Planning. That was why I was able to transform my state as I did. I could have helped Nigeria in a similar way. All the conferences that I have attended, 1994 -1995, 2014 – the contributions I have made showed that I do have ideas that could have helped this country to be a better place than it is now. What do you miss most? What I miss most is the same thing that made Buhari (to) cry, which people criticized. When you see so many things going wrong and nobody is listening to you, it’s frustrating; that honestly you want to cry.

That is the only thing I miss; not holding the reins so I can correct some of the unfortunate things happening - the total incompetence, insensitivity and lack of understanding on the part of leadership. Not that I miss the convoys, occupying government house and the perks of office. Certainly not. Any regrets while in office? I can’t really think of anything except what Obasanjo did to me. I wish, from beginning he had paid the 13% (derivation). I would have had a little bit of money to do what I feel should have been done with the money. But he kept it and gave everything to my successor. Also, the misinformation about revolution on education, which I started, before my successor took it up and made education compulsory. The first thing I did when I came in was to pay examination fees for all SS3 students. Beyond paying the fees -because I didn’t have so much money, I introduced free education up to JSS3. And, for those who had missed out on school, I started adult education and skills training. But Akpabio came in and made it compulsory for all students. Is it true that when (you were) in office, you were surrounded with sycophants who fanned your ears with lies? There is, no doubt, that people will tell you all kinds of lies but you won’t buy any of it if you have a clear programme. Is leadership in Nigeria a burden? Yes. We have not had leadership that has given us a lot of purpose, devoid of selfishness. We have had some purpose but that purpose was driven by selfish interest. The worst aspect is that leadership did not develop the capability to insist on certain things. What I said earlier about national ethos has not been there. There are certain policies that are national in character but some people will get into office and find that ‘they do not benefit my people’ and will refuse to implement them. Sometimes, those that are tasked with the responsibility of formulating these things will fight if they feel the policies do not benefit them. Worse still, some will collect money and pass it even when they do not believe in it. The Houses of Assembly have to sit up and help
Three years ago, your wife of many years died. What changed for you when you lost her? Life cannot, possibly, be the same. We were married for over 47 years by the time she passed. That is a long time to have a constant companion that was such a steadying force and a good counsellor in one’s life. Thank God, I have two children who are very close to me. Currently, I live in the same house with my daughter and her children in Abuja so that has helped. How does one deal with pain? We have to remember that there is no suffering that compares with what Christ suffered, including being crucified. When you know that these things happen to test us, you will just learn to strengthen your faith in God and carry on. He is the only real anchor so don’t put your faith in anything other than God. What lesson has life taught you? Life has taught me that you have to open yourself up and be ready to learn new things every day because, you don’t know what is going to hit you tomorrow. I used to watch movies but I rarely look at television these days. I swim a lot. I don’t play any other sports, not even golf. You will think I can play before setting up the golf course at Le Meridien Hotel. I also enjoy working in my garden and in my farm. But what would be real relaxation for me, right now, is my profession. I am hoping, before I sign out, that somebody would give me opportunity to design a truly iconic building that can show that Nigerian architects are as good as any foreigner. I am longing for such opportunity. It’s so relaxing when you are thinking through a design. I really feel good when I am busily involved in my profession. What kind of music do you like? But nowadays, I am careful because I say to myself ‘What am I going to do with this knowledge at my age?’ What is happiness for you? Peace of mind. - The healthier option to butter
Happiness is more a state of health than of wealth. - FRANK TYGER
Hello my dear readers, peanut butter has always been the popular sandwich spread, but recently almond butter has emerged as the healthier alternative to use in your diet. What is almond butter? It’s just almonds, blended in a food processor. Add a little honey and sea salt for taste and you have a spoonful of heaven, that’s also really good for you! In my opinion, the greatest reason to love almond butter is the way it makes your taste buds feel! You can make it as creamy or crunchy as you like, but regardless of texture, it is absolutely delicious. Brush it on carrot or apple slices, spread it on whole-wheat toast, or just pop a spoonful into your mouth. Among nuts, almonds are the most nutritionally dense. This means that for every calorie you consume, you get more vitamins and minerals than from any other nut. Move over, peanut butter! One tablespoon of almond butter contains as much protein as you get from the same quantity of meat. It is also an excellent source of fiber, which helps digestion and nourishes tissues. Here are some other benefits to almond butter over peanut butter:
1.
Good for the Heart: The number one health benefit of almond butter is that it is good for the heart. It is rich in monounsaturated fats, which are the type of fats that reduce levels of cholesterol and decrease the risk of heart ailments. Dipping your biscuit in almond butter or spreading it on top of your bread certainly gives your heart a healthy boost.
2. Lower Blood Pressure: Almond butter is also
known for lowering blood pressure because it can decrease cholesterol levels. When cholesterol accumulates in the blood vessels of the body, it makes it difficult for blood to flow more freely to different organs. When this happens, the heart will pump more strongly and this can result in high blood pressure. Lowering the cholesterol will also lower blood pressure. Apart from that, almond butter also contains minerals that are effective in reducing blood pressure. These minerals are calcium, potassium, and magnesium, which work hand in hand to decrease the pressure and resistance in the blood vessels to maintain the proper level of blood pressure.
3. Help With Weight Control
There is a common misconception about nuts and weight gain. Since nuts, such as almonds, are high in calories, many people who are on a weight loss program tend to avoid eating them. However, you should know that almonds are high in protein, fiber, and monounsaturated fats. They’re also incredibly delicious! People who eat nuts are less likely to become overweight than those who avoid them.
4. Vitamen E
Almond butter has a nutritional advantage over peanut butter due to its vitamin E content. You use vitamin E to protect your cells from oxidative damage. As an antioxidant, vitamin E can neutralize free radicals, preventing these harmful chemicals from oxidizing your DNA and proteins, which damages your cells. Almond butter contains approximately 4 milligrams of vitamin E per tablespoon -- about 27 percent of your daily vitamin E requirements, according to the Linus Pauling Institute. Peanut butter contains just 1 milligram of vitamin E per 1-tablespoon serving. Just one teaspoon of almond butter contains more than 25% of your daily requirement of Vitamin E, which protects you from oxidative damage.
5. Magnesium
Switching from peanut butter to almond butter can also help you boost your magnesium intake. A tablespoon of almond butter contains 45 milligrams of magnesium -- 11 percent of the magnesium requirements for men and 14 percent for women, according to the Office of Dietary Supplements. An equivalent serving of peanut butter contains just 26 milligrams. Magnesium contributes to the function of your nervous system, facilitates muscle contraction, makes up a component of healthy bone tissue and helps support your metabolism.
6. Iron
Opting for almond butter over peanut butter also proves advantageous due to almond butter’s higher iron content.
TERI Speaks Good day Teri, Please send me the 1-6 this things I should not eat before bed through my email. My name is Hon, I read and saw your column via vanguard news papers. Hon
Iron promotes healthy oxygen transport -- it helps you make hemoglobin and myoglobin, two proteins that oxygenate your tissues. Like vitamin E, iron protects your cells from oxidative damage by helping to activate antioxidant enzymes in your cells. A tablespoon of almond butter contains 0.6 milligrams of iron, compared to 0.3 milligrams in a tablespoon of peanut butter. Each tablespoon of almond butter provides 8 percent of the daily iron requirements for men, according to the Linus Pauling Institute, and 3 percent for women.
Remember... It’s all about making healthy choices
Almond butter contains more of a few key vitamins and minerals, but both peanut and almond butters have a place in a healthy diet. Peanut butter offers some nutritional advantages. For example, it provides more selenium -- a mineral important to enzyme function -than almond butter. Whether you opt for almond or peanut butters, try to select minimally processed nut butters. Some commercial varieties of peanut and almond butter contain added sugar and salt to add flavor, as well as additives that prevent oil separation. Choose varieties of peanut or almond butter made from nuts alone, with no added preservatives or additives.
HARD FACTS! Roasted almond butter does taste fabulous, but to get the maximum health benefits from this butter, use raw almonds. Make your own almond butter at home. It is super-easy, and much better for your health. Make it in small quantities to make sure it stays fresh. I make it with 1 cup of almonds at a time.
That’s it for today my readers! Keep your skin looking younger—and lower your risk of skin cancer—with these foods. Hope you enjoyed this piece! Remember you read it here first!
Dear Hon, Thank you for your mail and enquiry. Below are the first six things you should not eat before bed. Peanut Butter, Icecream, Alchohol, Candy bars, red meat & celery. Best wishes, TM.

I WANT MY BOYFRIEND BACK
Dear Maame, Thank you for asking for help. May God give you the real help you need. I am not sure I want to help you get your boyfriend back because I don’t think it’s advisable. You already said that he is a SENSITIVE person. If that is correct, he may find it difficult to let go of offences! If he takes you back, he will ALWAYS REFER TO YOUR cheating on him and how much of a liar you are. He will always look for reasons to suspect you, doubt you, and condemn you. As a sensitive person, he will begin to hate you with the same degree that he once loved you; not because he wants to but because he can’t and won’t be able get over it even if it happened once, except he gets help through counselling.
Dear Sir, I got your telephone number online because I learnt you are a relationship counsellor. Please, I need your help. I am in love with a guy so much and he does love me too. But, at some point, I cheated on him with someone in the area (we live in). He got to find out and he doesn’t trust me anymore. He also does not believe a word from me. I am not good at expressing my feelings so it made the relationship unstable. He is a very sensitive person; when he sees me, he says that I am a liar and that he can’t get the thought of me cheating on him out of his mind. He suspects me of having an affair with a friend of mine. One day, he called me with an unknown

FLAT BELLY RULES
While you’re alive, you want to look and feel your healthiest. For many people, looking healthy means having a flat stomach. Having a flat stomach can make shopping for clothes more fun and provide an extra boost of confidence. If you’re looking to flatten your stomach, follow a few, simple flat tummy rules. Reduce Bloating If you want a flat stomach, the first thing you need to do is reduce bloating. You can do this by cutting down on food that causes gas such as beans, cauliflower, broccoli and brussel sprouts. These nutritious vegetables are good for you and shouldn’t be eliminated from your diet but they should be consumed in moderation. Another way to reduce bloating is to chew less gum which can increase bloating because air is swallowed as

He doesn’t pick my calls anymore; he collected his keys from me. I think that is break-up and I can’t get him out of my mind. I keep calling everyday but he doesn’t pick. I want to go to his house and apologize even though my apology and tears don’t move him any more. Please Sir, help me. I am so confused. I am sorry to bug you. Please, he is all I want. GIFT IDEAS FOR WINE LOVERS Mary Oliver said, “Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.” Gifts come in all forms and sometimes they come in the most intriguing packages. For wine lovers and patriots everywhere, gifting has become even more exciting! If you know anyone who loves wine, here are a few creative gift ideas for wine partisans.
Midwest Cbk Wine Holder you chew it. Increase Elimination Often, not having a flat stomach is caused by infrequent elimination. Regulate your bowel movements by increasing your intake of fruits, vegetables (except for the ones that cause more gas!), lean protein and whole grains. Drink Lots of Water Water helps flush out toxins, impurities and fats from your system. Adults are advised to drink between eight and 10 eight-ounce glasses of water per day. Say Goodbye to Fried Foods Fried foods are high in fat; the opposite of what you need to consume if you’re trying to get a flat tummy. Substitute fried foods for grilled, baked or broiled dishes. Eat baked potatoes or baked sweet potato fries instead of french fries; try baked or broiled chicken instead of fried chicken. Choose a salad as a restaurant appetizer rather than the more popular options of fried cheese and vegetables. Cut Down Calories In order to lose weight in your stomach or in any other area of your body, you will have to cut down your caloric intake. The average daily diet consists 2,000 to 2,500 calories. Still on wine holders, the Midwest CBK wine holder is unique and good looking; it’s every interior designer’s dream and works well as the perfect house warming gift.
Cordless Electronic Cork screw/ IXO Screwdriver It’s always a hassle uncorking wine bottles, and fortunately everything has become electronically controlled, making life easier for wine lovers. This screwdriver can also act as a makeshift corkscrew; plus it’s super handy.
Wine Thermometer Wine can be served cool but not cold. It tastes best when the temperature corresponds with that of its environment. All one needs to do is attach the thermometer to the bottle like a belt and within minutes, you can read the temperature on the digital display. The thermometer can withstand being dropped and even survive the loving attentions of the little ones, and it fits easily into a drawer, on a tray or on your kitchen shelves. So it’s a handy piece of equipment to gift with.
Soiree Bottle decanter
Unlike ordinary decanters, the soiree bottle decanter creates an intermediary juncture where the wine is saturated with oxygen after which it flows into your glass. Wine tastes best when it breathes. So by using this particular decanter, it eliminates the amount of time taken to aerate wine before consumption.
Plastic Cup Wine Glass This glass is playful and perfect for wine lovers who like to move around with their wine.
Steady Sticks Wine Bottle Holder
This wine holder works perfectly for outdoorsy occasions like picnics and barbeques. The Steady Sticks wine bottle holder is made of durable stainless steel, and it features a stand that pushes easily into the ground, and spiral cylinder in which to set your bottle in, holding it firmly in place and ensuring it doesn’t spill.

High Protein Delicacies Fish is a magnificent source of protein, aside from it being proteinous, it is packed full of amino acids, folic acid, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. These essential nutrients, boost the immune system tremendously. Fish is not only healthy, it is also delicious and filling, so take a break from meat and try out these fish recipes .
Deep Fried Fish With Chili Sauce Ingredients • 300-400g whole Croaker fish, gutted and scaled vegetable oil For the Sauce Vegetable oil or butter 5 cloves garlic, diced 1 yellow onion, diced 5 big red chilies, diced 2 tablespoons fish sauce 2 tablespoon light soy sauce 1 handful basil leaves 1 handful coriander Method: Rinse the fish and dry well. Slit the fish in a horizontal pattern, line by line, cutting down to the rib bones. Make two other slits along the back of the fish, from head to tail on either side of the rear fin. These cuts will increase the rate at which it cooks and make it crispy. Slowly heat the deep frying oil in a large saucepan to around 175 degrees C. If you do not have a thermometer, then, dip the head of the fish into the oil; if it sizzles, it is ready, if it does not sizzle then wait a few minutes then try again. When the oil is hot enough, slip the fish into the oil and fry for several minutes until it is crispy. Gently take the fish out of the oil and let it drain on paper towels. Sauce: Fry the garlic, onion and chilies with a small amount of oil or butter. When the ingredients are lightly browned, add the fish sauce and soy sauce. Turn off the heat. Quickly mix in the basil and coriander. Place the fish on a large platter and pour the sauce over the fish. Serve with steamed noodles

I found myself asking this question after an evening spent with a close girlfriend. Bill Cosby was her childhood hero and everyone’s dad on TV. I used to joke around with my dad about how much he looked like Dr Huxtable and maybe hoping against hope that Denise would also end up being a sister of mine? Imagine the shock when the allegations of drugging and sexual abuse started to seep out, drip after drip, fingers pointed at one of the most famous faces ever to star in a sitcom. It’s been disappointing to say the least and all I’ve asked myself is why isn’t he saying anything? How can 46 women have almost the same tale to tell about one person? But apparently it’s not the first time, accusations have been levelled…ten
