The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to share the 2026 edition of Business Matters Magazine, proudly produced in partnership with Lodestar Media ( Business in Vancouver, Tri-Cities are Awesome)
For more than five decades, the Tri-Cities Chamber has been a connector, a champion, and a catalyst for business across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, and Belcarra. That role has never been more important. In a time of rapid change, uncertainty, and growing complexity, the true value of your Chamber lies in the strength of its membership—the participation, commitment, and collective voice of businesses who choose to show up, engage, and advocate together.
As CEO, I lead with my heart. I am in this role because I believe deeply in the power of business to shape strong communities, and in the responsibility we share to support one another—today and for the future. My focus is, and always will be, on finding meaningful ways the Chamber can support business owners, leaders, and entrepreneurs as they navigate what’s next.
Advocacy and government relations remain at the core of our work. We are proud to offer multiple opportunities each year for our members to connect directly with all levels of government serving the Tri-Cities, Belcarra, and Anmore—creating space for dialogue, understanding, and real impact. When our businesses speak with a united voice, decision-makers listen.
To our dedicated members, partners, and sponsors— thank you for standing with your Chamber. Your involvement fuels everything we do: from advocating on your behalf, to delivering timely insights and practical resources, to creating platforms that elevate and grow your business. Through thoughtful conversations, meaningful connections, and strong member benefits, we remain focused on one simple goal—helping your business move forward with confidence.
I am incredibly grateful to our ambassadors and volunteers whose leadership, passion, and generosity of time help keep our Chamber strong, and to our

exceptional staff team who bring this work to life every day. A special thank-you as well to the members who advertised in this publication—your support helps make Business Matters possible.
Community is at the heart of everything we do, and I am proud to serve a region that believes in collaboration, resilience, and shared success. I look forward to another impactful year ahead and to continuing to support our valued members and partners throughout 2026.
Jennifer McKinnon CEO Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce
We respectfully acknowledge that we live, work, play and learn on lands that have long been home to the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) First Nation. We recognize their enduring connection to this land, their histories, cultures, and contributions, and we support the ongoing journey of reconciliation through mutual respect, learning and relationship-building.

In Port Coquitlam, Saputo isn’t just a global dairy leader—they’re a cornerstone of the Tri-Cities business community. With operations at their Port Coquitlam plant and Abbotsford facility, Saputo blends cutting-edge technology with rigorous standards for quality, efficiency, and innovation. But what truly sets them apart is their commitment to the community that surrounds them.
From distributing dairy products at local events to joining the Taste of the Tri-Cities this year, Saputo is actively supporting the Chamber’s Tri-Local initiative, helping strengthen the local restaurant industry at a time when it faces unprecedented challenges.
“This is exactly why restaurants need to be part of the Chamber right now,” says Jennifer McKinnon, CEO of the Tri-Cities Chamber. “By engaging large businesses like Saputo, we can create initiatives that provide substantial, tangible value to smaller members. Their support allows us to promote restaurants, advocate for their interests, and implement programs that elevate the entire industry.

Simply put, when big companies invest in the Chamber, every member benefits—especially those who need it most.”
“Partnering with the Chamber has been a game-changer for us,” adds Archie Klimos, Plant Manager at Saputo Port Coquitlam. “It gives us the opportunity to connect with other local businesses, share innovative practices, and support initiatives that make a real difference in our community. Seeing how our participation helps strengthen smaller businesses, including local
restaurants, underscores why Chamber collaboration is so powerful. Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient business ecosystem.”
For Saputo, Chamber membership is far more than a civic gesture—it’s an investment in the Tri-Cities economy. By supporting the Chamber, they help foster connections, drive innovation, and create opportunities that allow smaller businesses to thrive. Their leadership demonstrates that business success and community impact aren’t just compatible— they’re inseparable.
You might be a small business, a mediumsized operation, a big employer—or a mighty “just me” business doing it all yourself. No matter your size, you belong here.
With more than 1,300 member organizations representing over 25,000 employees, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce has been championing local business for more than 50 years. Our mission is simple: to support you, strengthen your business, and help you succeed—today and into the future.
As the voice for businesses in Tri-Cities, we help you cut through the red tape and advocate on your behalf, shaping policy at all levels of government.
It pays to be a member — literally. Gain access to exclusive business benefits and cost savings, such as savings on group insurance, office supplies, and more.
Stay connected and join an engaged community of more than 1,300 businesses: build relationships with members and the community, meet future clients, and showcase your business.

Shaping business and our community through genuine connections, active education, and effective government advocacy for our members.
Established in 1971 by combining three separate Chambers in our region, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under Canada’s Boards of Trade Act.
As the voice of business for the Tri-Cities, we represent organizations in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, and the Villages of Anmore and Belcarra, spanning a variety of industries, specialities, and interests. Our members include the community’s biggest employers, and small and medium-sized businesses, as well as non-profits, home-based entrepreneurs, and more.
The Chamber focuses on strong public policy that supports local prosperity, being a visible and approachable presence in the community, and ensuring that the value of membership is the best investment businesses can make. We are proud members of the BC and Canadian Chambers of Commerce.

To be the voice and essential resource of a thriving business community.
Leadership, service excellence, integrity, and innovation.
FOR THE MEMBER DIRECTORY?
As the voice of business for Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce advocates on behalf of its members with all levels of government, on issues that affect business, community, and economic prosperity in our region.
We are an active member of the BC Chamber of Commerce, which represents the interests and concerns of Chambers and businesses across the province, as well as the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, which speaks for more than 175,000 businesses on national and international issues.
Topics for government relations and advocacy in 2025 included the cost of living, housing affordability, healthcare staffing shortages, public safety, housing, commercial property taxes, transportation infra- structure, rising costs of doing business, local development proposals, and more.
We hosted a range of timely and impactful policy discussions throughout the year, beginning with the BC Budget 2025 and Our Economic Future Roundtable featuring MLA Peter Milobar, Critic of Finance. In May,

our Lunch With Leaders series welcomed the Honourable Rick Glumac, Minister of State for Trade, alongside Parliamentary Secretary Choi, for a special conversation on how the Province of British Columbia was responding to the potential impacts of American tariffs on Canadian goods.
In November, we brought together the Tri-Cities Members of Parliament for a post-budget discussion and closed out the year at our Annual General Meeting with insights from RBC’s Chief Economist on the economic outlook ahead.
Beyond these marquee events, we ensured our members had ongoing, direct access to political leadership through roundtables, our monthly Mingle with the Mayors, and the always-popular Mayor’s BBQ—creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue, connection, and advocacy year-round.
The Tri-Cities Chamber participated in the BC Chamber of Commerce and Canadian Chamber of Commerce Conventions and policy debates, resulting in the annual policy manual that sets out advocacy efforts for the year (in addition to emerging issues), available on our website.

The Tri-Cities Chamber advocates on behalf of its members with all levels of government.

In today’s fast-paced, ever-changing business world, no one succeeds alone. Economic shifts, new technologies, evolving markets, and complex regulatory environments mean that navigating the business landscape can feel daunting. That’s where your local chamber of commerce comes in. At the TriCities Chamber, we’re more than a network—we’re a team of passionate, ambitious, and energetic professionals dedicated to helping your business grow, connect, and thrive.
Joining your local chamber isn’t just a membership—it’s a movement. It’s about joining a community of like-minded business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals who understand that together, we are stronger.
One of the most powerful reasons to join a chamber is advocacy. We make your voice heard at every level of government—from municipal councils to provincial offices, and all the way to Ottawa. Chambers of commerce are recognized as trusted partners in business policy and economic development, giving us the influence to push for pro-business legislation,
smart regulations, and strategic infrastructure investments. At the Tri-Cities Chamber, we advocate not just for individual members, but for the broader business ecosystem. By participating, you ensure your business has a seat at the table and a say in the decisions that affect your industry, your community, and your bottom line. More members mean a louder collective voice, and that voice drives change.
Business is all about relationships. When you join the Chamber, you gain access to a thriving network of entrepreneurs, innovators, and business leaders. Our events, mixers, roundtables, and programs create opportunities to exchange ideas, spark collaborations, and uncover new partnerships. Whether it’s a casual lunch with fellow business owners, a large-scale networking event, or a targeted roundtable with government representatives, the connections you make can translate into real business opportunities, referrals, and growth. And let’s not forget—the Chamber knows how to have fun while doing it.

More than Membership, CONTINUED FROM PAGE 15
The Chamber equips members with the tools to thrive. From workshops on marketing, finance, technology, and leadership to one-on-one business consultations and mentorship programs, our members gain access to practical guidance, actionable insights, and expert advice. Facing a challenge? We help you find solutions. Looking to grow or scale? We connect you with the right people, resources, and strategies to make it happen. Knowledge is power, and the Chamber delivers it in spades.
Being part of a Chamber isn’t just about connections—it’s smart business. Membership comes with exclusive discounts and savings on essential business services, supplies, insurance, and more. These programs help members operate more efficiently, reduce costs, and stay competitive. It’s a simple way to add tangible value while focusing on what matters most: growing your business.
Chamber membership sends a signal—to clients, partners, and your community—that you’re committed to local prosperity and economic development. We shine a spotlight on our members through social media, newsletters, events, and publications. Displaying your membership certificate or logo is more than a symbol—it’s a mark of credibility, trust, and professionalism.
The Chamber isn’t just about business—it’s about building a stronger community. Our members participate in volunteer initiatives, charitable projects, and community events that make a real difference. We collaborate with governments, non-profits, and educational institutions to tackle shared challenges and advance collective goals. By joining, you’re not just growing your business—you’re helping shape the future of the Tri-Cities.
The strength of any chamber lies in its members. The more businesses that join, the louder our collective voice becomes. Together, we influence policy, advocate for meaningful change, and create a thriving business ecosystem. Alone, businesses can struggle—but together, we are unstoppable.
“When we come together through the Chamber, we amplify our voices, strengthen our economy, and build a community where businesses – and people – can truly thrive. The Chamber exists to ensure businesses have a seat at the table, a voice that matters, and a network that supports them through every stage of growth. Together, we are stronger—and our impact is greater.”
~ Jennifer McKinnon, CEO, Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce
I am continually inspired by the business owners who join our Chamber—especially those new to Canada—who immediately recognize the power of connection, advocacy, and community. They know that a strong network can make all the difference. Isolation and apathy won’t grow your business, but being part of a vibrant, engaged chamber will.
At the Tri-Cities Chamber, we bring energy, ambition, and action to everything we do. We connect businesses, amplify voices, provide tools to succeed, and create opportunities to shine. Membership is more than a resource—it’s a commitment to your growth, your peers, and your community.
When businesses come together, we become stronger. We influence policy, open doors, share knowledge, and make our community better. At a time when the business landscape is more complex than ever, having a powerful network behind you isn’t just an advantage—it’s essential.
Your business thrives when your community thrives. Your community thrives when we work together. Join the Tri-Cities Chamber, and let’s make business stronger—together.

The Tri-Cities are more than just neighbouring municipalities; they are vibrant communities brimming with unique shopping experiences that foster economic growth and create lasting connections among residents and visitors.
In a world increasingly dominated by online shopping, the importance of supporting local businesses has never been more critical. Shopping locally not only bolsters our economy but also enriches our communities. When we choose to support our local merchants, we are investing in the lives of our neighbors, friends, and families.
Spending with a local business has ripple effects that contribute to the growth and health of the communities in our province.

Together, these locally loved spots showcase the creativity, hospitality, and entrepreneurial spirit that make Port Moody and the Tri-Cities such a vibrant place to live, shop, and explore.
The Tri-Cities’ vibrant business community also comes to life through its thriving farmers markets. The Coquitlam Farmers Market showcases an impressive mix of artisan goods, fresh produce, and handcrafted gifts from local vendors, creating a lively space where residents can discover unique, locally made products while connecting with the community. Located at the head of the Burrard Inlet, Port Moody is a vibrant and connected city, with distinctive places and spaces.
Historically an industrial town because of its tidewater location and rail connections — with numerous sawmills, two oil refineries, a deep-sea port terminal, a steel pipe plant, a chemical plant, and a natural gasfired electricity generating plant — the City was the original terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway on the west coast of Canada.
While heavy industry remains an important part of Port Moody’s economy, the community has grown and changed significantly over the past century, with many new residents and businesses that have transformed the city from a mill town to a modern urban community.
Located within the Metro Vancouver region, Port Moody is connected by rapid transit, rail, major highways, and a deep-sea port. This natural setting, combined with residential and recreational opportunities, along with proximity to nearby Simon Fraser University and Douglas College David Lam Campus, serve as magnets to attract a skilled labour force.
Providing an exceptional quality of life through arts and cultural experiences, a rich natural environment, walkable neighbourhoods of unique character and a thriving core, Port Moody’s approach to land use planning focuses on economic, environmental, cultural, and social sustainability, with the City committed to helping businesses thrive.

At a time when the restaurant industry continues to navigate rising costs, labour shortages, and evolving consumer habits, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Tri-Local Collective, is serving up a fresh, community-first initiative designed to support local food and beverage businesses when they need it most.
The Taste of the Tri-Cities (TOTTC) is a region-wide foodie festival inspired by programs like Dine Out Vancouver, but with a distinctly local flavour and purpose. “Running during a traditionally slower time of year for restaurants, TOTTC aims to drive foot traffic, spark discovery, and celebrate the depth and diversity of the Tri-Cities culinary scene—while removing the financial barriers that often prevent smaller operators from participating in promotional campaigns” explained Jennifer McKinnon, CEO for the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.
Unlike many festivals or dining events that require costly buy-ins, TOTTC participation costs restaurants only a gift card, which is then reinvested directly back

into the program through marketing campaigns, giveaways, and consumer incentives throughout the festival. The result is a high-impact promotional opportunity that prioritizes accessibility and equity across the industry.
“We were very intentional about making sure this wasn’t a pay-to-play model,” says Chloe Wan, Director of Strategy and the driving force behind the initiative.
“When restaurants participate in Taste of the Tri-Cities, they’re not just promoting their own business—they’re supporting a collective effort to strengthen the entire local food ecosystem. That sense of shared community is what makes this program special.”
At its core, TOTTC is about more than menus and meal deals. It’s about community pride, collaboration, and commitment. By encouraging residents to explore local eateries and try new spots across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody, the program reinforces the idea that where we choose to spend our dollars matters—especially in challenging economic times.
The initiative is amplified by the reach and influence of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, one of the top five largest chambers in British Columbia. With a robust communications network and a strong social media presence, the Chamber brings significant visibility to participating restaurants—many of which are Chamber members—while also opening the door for non-members to experience firsthand the value of Chamber support.
While TOTTC is open to both members and non-members, the Chamber hopes the program demonstrates what it means to be part of a larger business community.
“This is about showing restaurants that the Chamber is more than networking events or venue partnerships,” Wan says. “We provide access to meaningful conversations with all levels of government, advocacy on critical issues like student wages and immigration, and a collective voice for industries that often struggle to be heard.”

These advocacy efforts are especially relevant to the restaurant sector, where policy decisions around labour, training, and immigration have a direct and immediate impact. By connecting restaurants to these broader conversations, the Chamber reinforces that participation in TOTTC is not just about showcasing great food—it’s about being part of something bigger.
Being part of Taste of the Tri-Cities means aligning with a shared vision: community support, community pride, and community impact. It’s a reminder that when local businesses come together—with the right partners and the right purpose—they can create momentum that extends far beyond a single event.
As the Tri-Cities continue to grow and evolve, initiatives like TOTTC highlight the power of collaboration and the role business organizations can play in building resilient, connected communities—one plate at a time.
