Cultural Center Typology
An eight week project aimed to create an architecture capable of contemporary needs while acknowledging the tensions and nuanced history of the six indigenous nations in Topeka, KS. The design reverses the methodology of the built environment and establishes a foundation to a new approach and critique of architectural expression of indigenous culture. Integration of the formal typology of Topeka and Indigenous architecture forms are abstractions becoming spatial elements of teaching and echoes of the past. Experiences of spatial quality are derived from indigenous architecture homes creating a sense of belonging into the space.

Housing Typology
A five week project aimed to introduce unfamilar housing typologies within familar architecture in the context. The design aimed to revitalize the public district of the town in hopes of aiding in the growth of the town. The design introduces unfamiliar housing typologies into the current housing architecture. The current neighborhood typology of a two way street and backyard becomes reinterpreted in a unfamilar way becoming spaces that are more community driven. Porches, windows, and roofs are manipulated in such way that brings a different feeling to what a house is.

Typology
An eight week project aimed to commemorate and celebrate the rural identity of Council Grove, KS. The goal was to design a branch library for the city of Council Grove, Kansas. The city wishes to retain the key roles of a traditional library that of communal gathering and contemplative refuge. The project celebrates the rural identity by acknowledgment of the history, the people, and the surrounding context.
